If your computer had a virus, you would remove it?
If there was dirt on your kitchen floor you would clean it?
If there was sh*te on your boot you would wipe it?

    Definitely the same as

If you don't like your neighbour would you murder his children

Literally the worst comparison ive ever heard on boards.

Here we have a gang that want to be the Waterford version of the Dundons. How much do you think they have cost Limerick so far? Look what they have done.

Meh, you haven't been here that long, stick around you might even hear worse.

You think murdering kids and families is justified here, well, that's your own lookout I suppose. Happy hunting.

Do you think these People would think twice about doing harm to you if you got in their way/failed to pay them back etc? These people have literally zero regard for anybody. If they did, they wouldn't pride themselves on ruining the lives of others. They have no regard for the law or for society in general. **** them, **** them all. I

I hope there's a day when we all wake up & we can get along with our neighbours :-)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

You fail to see that you would have become the thing you hope to wake up and find doesn't exist anymore in the process.

How can you talk about regard for the law/society when you would advocate murder? Honestly.

Edit: I will also add that "this type of human" is also in control of some of the biggest corporations on the planet, there is such a thing as white collar crime also, lives are ruined by that too. Should we kill every accountant who has bankrupted a client and his family? Every elected official who has made a dirty deal that has ruined countless lies? Every head of a company who destroys anything in its path to profit?

I have to say after living on Limerick for a while a few years back there definitely was a feeling of too little too late in relation to their problem up there.

This was at the time that there were usually helicopters in the air every night and brawls in town once a week.

Oddly the only Quango with teeth seems to be the CAB.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 spikadelica

Unfair to label CAB a quango, it is a dedicated unit tasked to attack the monetary benefits of crime. If only our judiciary were as hell bent on solving our crime family issues when the courts offer them the opportunity, we might see a few more of these charming individuals behind bars. The CAB has dealt with some of the countries most notorious crims at the level it hurts them most ... money. A quango implies that it is an organisation stuffed with unsuitable political appointees, similar to say Irish Water.

CAB has had some good success it must be said

I hate these illegal money lending scum preying on the weakest in our society. They will probably get away with a slap on the wrist as well.

In all seriousness whatever setup they had will never be the same again when CAB get involved. They will go through their Assets and incomes with serious scrutiny and confiscate every cent above what they legally earned. Considering 99% of them are on Welfare id say thats basically everything thats not well hidden.

As well as that they will be heavily monitored. The Guards have obviously realised that if they dont crack down now they will be dealing with a new stab city. The Dundons 2.0.

Exactly, When Cab get involved it usually signals the start of the end ,And they just don't go away. so hopefully this is the start of a nightmare for these people and a new beginning for their victims.

End for them but not the end for the victims. If they are stupid enough to borrow money off them they probably dont have much of a future anyway.

Dont assume they where somehow forced to take the loans. That's not what happened.

    Nobody wins in this situation.

These statements are the biggest load of s**t ,
Yes the loan sharks may not have force money on these people but a hell of a lot of other factors did force their hand .For a lot of people loan sharks are their only option .Yes I know drug and alcohol have played a big part with some of the people that borrow money but not with everyone involved ,
I have seen first hand with friends and neighbours what life can and will be like once you get involved with these scum but calling them stupid and belittling their future is totally out of order.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 972 ✭✭✭Digital Society

Not really. Assuming this is a case of good vs Evil is just naive.

People borrowing money because no regulated institution would even dream of loaning money to them.

What person borrows 40k cash off a traveller to buy a house in Ardmore Park? Anybody with half a brain wouldnt borrow a tenner off them never mind enough to buy a house. You tell me a word apart from stupid that sums up a person like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,247 ✭✭✭ROCKMAN

    to afford school books
to provide roof over their heads
    to pay the bills
and many many more reasons to be desperate.

You do realise it's loan sHark, not loan sTark, right?

As in marine predators, rather than comic book heroes, is the intended mental image!

Thank you so much for been so diligent on this thread /forum ,God only knows what type of level we could sink too without your commitment to the cause .

Thank you again , And no it's not an anal pastime like some would say ,its a level of commitment that far to little people show these days and should be admired and applauded.

Theres 1/2 million in the same boat.

We dont drive the blackmarket by illegally borrowing off the pikeys. Dont keep pretending that their just these little innocent victims. Its supply and demand. Someone has to buy the drugs as well as sell them.

What they get out of the post office on a Thursday with the other 1.2 mill should be more than enough.

Hey Shakespeare, nobody is expecting users' spelling to be 100% accurate.

It's not a spelling mistake though? (Unless he made the same one twice in quick succession!) Anyway, sorry if I upset the apple tart... ;)

Soft sentences in this country - no deterrent. What we need is something like the 'Three Strikes' as a previous poster mentioned. Or how about they reopen Spike Island and have them all down there breaking rocks. I'l bet we would see some changes then.

Do parents still get Allowance if their kids are in a detention centre?

Just heard on WLRFM that Gardaí have arrested six people in relation to this operation.

One the radio now - "being held at various stations across Waterford" presumably that refers to the county then!

Could be Garda station, bus station, train station, fire station, first aid station and a petrol station???

Don't know the exact update, but 99.9% of the time they would be released on bail and a file would have to be forwarded to the DPP for directions, which could take anything from a month to 6+ (including preparing the file). If they were charged, then the Gardaí have 42 days to get all the evidence and statements together for court, so charging usually only happens in straight forward cases.

From what I've heard they are still harassing and intimidating people.

They have neither fear nor respect for the law.
