Did anyone not do the speech on personal writing?

I didn't. I did the one about 'a moment of sheer madness.' I think I made a complete mess of it, i strangled and then drowned my friend in a river and told my mam about it on her deathbed as she died from cancer. I'm just realising how stupid it sounds now... Hopefully I can scrape a B.

    1. What impression do you get of the boy in Miroslav Holub's poem, A Boy's Head? Explain
your answer with reference to the first fourteen lines of the poem.

    A. I said he's creative and observational, made reference to the "river that flows upwards" and the way he thought about everybody elses thoughts and the way they have "a head" (only realised now that it asks you to refer to the first fourteen lines of the poem :( ALWAYS READ THE QUESTION PEOPLE)

    2. Miroslav Holub's use of language in A Boy's Head, is highly imaginative. Do you agree?
Base your answer on evidence from the poem.

    A. I agreed and referred to "and a project for doing away with piano lessons." The poet captures the imagination of a young boy and makes it relatable by writing about him thinking of quitting piano lessons. I noted the contrast between religion and science (Noahs Ark/Anti-Matter)

    3. Do you think that this is an optimistic poem? Support your answer with reference to the
    poem.

    A. Yes, "There is much promise in the circumstance that so many people have heads." The boy believes that anybody can achieve what they want to if they just put their mind to it (use their head)

That's a summary of my answers, don't know if they're correct and so disappointed that I messed up the first one but there's nothing I can about it now!

Remember, they have to have the bell curve.
So, regardless of the paper only a certain number of people get A's anyway.

Friend of mine in fifth year, went in to his JC knowing no quotes for Romeo and Juliet, To kill a mockingbird or a poem, and still came out with an A!! Anything is plausible!!

That's the exact same as me I got 83 in the mock too but today's paper was way harder :( Loads of my answers were sloppily put together too, but I actually found the poem to be easy! :) hope we can still pull it up to the A </3
Hope the examiner pity's me and gives me an A. I will be eternally greatful

No offence, but that wasn't a good idea. There's no moral to that story.

Did many people finish paper 2? In the mocks I wrote about two lines of the studied fiction, but today I finished the paper a minute or two early (with no work on timing my questions since the mocks). :)

Haha, I wasn't really thinking, just writing. I hope it gives the examiner a laugh, I might get pity marks. The moral of this story was 'don't kill people' lol.

My personal writing speech is basically about celebrity's influencing people to have eating disorders, drug addictions and a rant about Kim Kardashian :/

Found it really hard to fit a nice Goodnight Mister Tom question into both the studied fiction sections. In the end, I opted for the one about the title of the novel. Not sure how many marks they'll give me ah well!

Just was writing the last line as being told to finish up. I kept on yawning. Wrecked after writng so much.

With a bit of luck you might get an examiner who'll see the funny side, but you could get someone who'll won't like it.

I guess I worked my way around it by saying that death was a part of ordinary life for soldiers.

I did the same thing. That was the only poem I studied and I was determined to use it some how, hopefully the examiner will like it

Paper one was beautiful, i was delighted how it went! I did the composition of Things that make me laugh and i went a bit of the rails with my slagging towards the Irish gov. ...Very confident going in to do paper two until i saw the first question hahahah, i answered everything, just barely had enough time but its done! Very nervous for Irish tomorrow though! :(

I thought paper two was handy enough, you know, looking at other years I think we got it easier. The questions were so flexible I could answer them and sure I haven't looked at my novel play or poetry since last year!

Paper one: quite happy, loved the essay titles and functional writing, thought the reading comprehension was a bit hard, made a mess of the last question in media studies as I didnt write my radio advertisement in the "script" format as shown on the paper
Paper two: much harder than past papers I've practised, went reasonably ok, thought the studied questions for novel were difficult, and I think I am the only person who kind of liked the studied poem?
I originally had hoped for an A but now I'm not so sure, I'm hoping my short story will bring me up to the marks I need :/

For a turning point was Romeo and Juliet's death okay??

I felt that the Sherlock Question wasn't too bad, my essay wasn't the best, the functional writing was good (I did the senior citizen question, should I have used any particular style?) However my media studies was awful. I did question 1 but I felt like it too me far too long! I then spent time trying to find a television programme in the magazines and wrote two lines about Jedward TV from the Kiss magazine before I had to hand it up:(
Paper 2, I did Shakespearean and found it good (why did they ask you for 2 points when it was a 15 mark question?!) But was slow to do the studied, even though I had tons and tons of quotes and the poem had to be rushed and the fiction and I didn't get it finished even though I would have had tons to write about and quote:( Oh well...

I did the senior citizen one too - I just wrote that I didn't normally help older people went to a nursing home loved it and hope people will learn from my experience (but in way fancier language obviously) was that ok??
Did that media studies Q too, and I just wrote a review for a random tv show I watch?!?!? First time I did it I did a movie review so I was so rushed gahhh

Can I ask what exactly did people find hard in paper 2 I know the questions were a bit vague but they were easily answerable.

It depends on a persons ability some people fine things other people find easy hard & vice versa
For me I hated the studied novel question did the 2nd one as I couldn't even think of anything for the first one
Poetry question wasn't nice at all
And some of the unseen questions were really weird (human nature?!)
