Puma is nice but not perfect, door and that big lorry style mirror with long short range sight leave no room for taller people to put their head getting into cab etc and seems a little short of power but nice place to be otherwise from what the lads says

    True about the mirrors!
Sisu engines are sadly missed also.
The whole range seems to be underpowered. I wonder does the Derv doc travel or could one post over the ecu?

I think when it comes to tractors it all depends on the work its required for or if you happen to get a lemon or not.

One tractor may be brilliant for one farmer and be a disaster for his neighbour

    True.
But to qualify that, tractors that are worked long and hard will soon show their weak points.
Feckin Massey's weren't happy until they were (as Bg said) throwing up error codes or going to main dealers for surgery. I wouldn't mind but the 6480 was only on light work duties like spraying etc

Have an old cvx195 (Steyr build)with 9k hours on and all it ever got was a set of brakes at 6k hours. Never a spanner to it bar a couple of bushings in front axle.

That was poor our 7614 is putting out 155 at pro. Sisu engine. Have her on the genny this evening purring like a kitten

    How many Kva?
95/100 Kva genny here and it would put 6480 on her knees.

Dyna4's are now worth more second hand than dyna6. That speaks for itself.

Sure fendt have the same engine?? Unless they improved the heads? No one has deutz around me that I know. Few fendts tough.

How's the 5610 going for you? Only 15hp off the 120 mark too :D

Not sure tbh. The deutz was used as the puller iykwim. On ploughs and disks and the biggest trailers. Seems he prefers the fendt. 2 936s now all the way down to a 416.

Not a bother on her. She has 250 bales to draw from 5 miles away this winter up and down hills so ill really test her then.
Tbh I reckon we would get away with 1 tractor here apart from in spring when things are busy and tractor is needed in yard and fert also needs to be spread.

The deutz and biggest fendt are same hp

That's only a glimpse of it.
Massive spot. He takes in all the osr for wexford amd carlow and some if wicklow amd dries it.
Owns part of a fert company and spreads alot if fert amd buys various other grains and drys and sells throughout the yr

Has best rates on fert around. 2e/ton /month if left on account. Couldn't get much better than that

What is the new MF 56XX range like? Was thinking of replacing the 390 sometime in the future (not this year), and like that want something a bit stronger but with near enough the same 'footprint' and with an air seat and cab suspension as the land is bumpy in places. Was thinking of a late model 5455 / 5445 or one of the new model 5610/5612, though the latter are a good bit dearer. Anyone have experience of these?

5612 is about 76000new with a loader. cant use 3 spools and the loader at the same time. have to change a lever outside. and another lever outside for the hitch I think. the biggest design flaw in history. it would be a lovely tractor only for that. was talkin to an owner of one and he reckons it has really bad steering lock. 12. metres I think.

No way is it 12 I can turn mine around in 7-8m yard here and a loader on it at that
Don't know what you mean about loader.
Masses have had the lever on spool valve for a few yrs now. The old type Dromore with the hook and ram on it is illegal now. Has to be manuly opened with a cable

is not the 5610 u hav. and 7-8 metres is still pretty bad on a 105hp tractor.

Seen a brand new 152 deutz between slane and Ashbourne. Savage looking machine all done in black and I'd be no means a tractor fan.

There wicked flimsy inside I think it's 6 washers to reset....constantly cracking...heard of a lad having to split one of them three times to get it correct!

You got a right lemon at 160hp....taught they are a big overpriced esp for the battery

Them old steyrs are famous down around Wexford on the tillage farms afaik....legend has it case stopped making them :(
    Is it true?

5612 that we were lookin at had 3, I have a sprayer that needs all 3 spools and lets just say you were pullin out on to a busy road and had to lift the loader up to go out you cant as you have all the spools turned on out the back you have to get out and walk around to the bank of spools at the loader on the right hand side and turn a lever just to lift up the loader!!!

what relation is the cvx of the cs which are ahsome ,i know they are both steyrs but are the gearbox different

That's not right. That lever your on about is only for the hitch and should be closed when ever hitch is not in use.
We've a mower that takes 3 spools and can still operate the loader with it.
Like wise wrapper while in use. 3 spools 2 in use. One pumping and one dumping. Could still use loader up and down and operate the stacker

Different gearbox as the cvx is a vario box, while the cs (from a 110 up) is a 6speed box with 4 splits(zf box), the very same box as used by duetz from the start of agrotrons. There an unreal back end to lift, rated to something crazy like 9ton or something like that.

I wonder would their be a market for them...esp among bigger farmers/contractors as afaik they were v.highly rated....

Afraid won't be much help but neighbour bought a new Claas with loader to replace his Moffit, I think he traded in his tractor as well haven't been talking to him since he bought. Dunno anything about it but I think it has good view with part of the roof glass I think they do decent enough finance packages.

Neighbour I put up there with all the fendts doesn't hire anything. Has diversified well like your are with drying grain etc

Are you going a bit back in time?
imo the few tractors i have driven the cs would be ahead of the tm/mxm range ,i presume the puma is similar to mxm .Are cvx similar to cs in alot of ways?
If agrotrans have same gearbox as cs ,i can not understand that they are not more popular,i wonder what is there drawback?

Deutz use Zf gear boxes same as the cs. The powershift/manual and also their vario box of late same as Jd. The cs/cvx(steyr or painted red cases) were going the right direction until Case/nh bought out steyr then decided to make their cabs as un user friendly as possible with the tm/mxm's etc etc... Cnh's vario box was the steyr originally which was half the reason they bought them out.

Afaik the cvx vario was made by zf and from 2010 the Puma got the completely new cnh vario.
