Doing a day trip to the Italy game flying from Standsted. Anyone know the best way to travel too and from the stadium to the airport?

The stansted express is £15 return if booked a month in advance, by far the quickest and most reilable route into central London.

Doing a day trip from Cork to Heathrow for the Italy game. Is my best bet to get a taxi to the ground?

Olympic is other side of London, and is anywhere between an hour and 90 mins by car and given that it is motorway for a lot of it, you could be caught in traffic I know a few housemates of mine have gotten taxis from Heathrow for a 15/20 min drive and costing £20 or more so best best and probably cheapest is to jump on the Picadilly line in Heathrow and change onto the Central line at Holborn.

What time are you flying in?

Check out journeyplanner.rugbyworldcup.com and also Google Maps

Given you don't have loads of time I'd probably pay the extra for the Heathrow Express. When you get to Paddington, don't get on the tube there, walk 5 mins to Lancaster Gate tube and get the Central Line directly to Stratford. Don't get a taxi anyway, it won't get you there any quicker, could potentially take much longer, and will cost a fortune.

Has you arriving at the stadium at 4

Leaving Heathrow at 2 gets you into the Olympic Park at 3.20, so can stop in Stratford Shopping Centre and have a drink and lunch

Change at Ealing Broadway, get the Heathrow Connect. I'll be heading in on the Central Line as well to Stratford

Just paid my buddy for the three tickets we got. stg£250 worked out at €347 via the bank transfer I made to him in London. We're going to be screwed by the exchange rate when over there but hey . . . .first world problems.

There is a bus that goes from Stansted to Stratford, £6 one way. Was talking to a housemate about it last night because I was moaning about the cost of getting from where I am to stansted for cheap flights home

Which bus is this? We're going over on the day of the match, and doing an overnight in Stratford afterwards.

Great! It seems that National Express run a service every half hour as well. Just wondering if it is necessary to book.

Has anyone NOT got their tickets yet? I got tickets for my brother for the Ireland Canada game (next week!) and the blasted tickets have not arrived yet.

I can't get through on the phone lines (experiencing high volumes etc) and their chirpy message says to leave an email query on the website, but I can't find any place to do that.

They have some bloody cheek charging 15 sterling for delivery and then not delivering.

    Hi all,

Just wondering what plans people have for the Italy Ireland game in the olympic stadium on October 4th? I have a 2 berth camper van and I am looking for a place close to the stadium to park up for the saturday and sunday of the game if anyone knows one?

Quick google brings up Lee Valley campsite, 75 mins on public transport from the ground.

I spoke to them last week on the phone - it is possible just about! They told me that all tickets purchased in August should be sent out by this week at the latest... Ours arrived on Saturday apparently.

If you go to the FAQ section and do a search for anything, it then becomes possible to fill out a form online.

If they do not arrive before you leave, it is possible to ask them to reprint the tickets and to collect them on the day at the stadium - or so they informed me!

I've heard about them reprinting tickets this week for some games, not sure was this originals or new tickets for misplaced ones as I think it was someone who had not received their tickets yet. Will check it out

Email address is ticketing@england2015.com that I got from their website.

Cat B to the opening game up - very tempting, but I might end up going to the fanzone in Richmond Park instead.

Anybody in and around Twickenham stadium, if you walk up from the west stand past Kneller hall there is a giant Ireland rugby ball on one of the greens, worth a picture!

I got my Tickets on Friday for the Canada Match.

Wonder is there is anywhere in Cardiff that will show the All Ireland Football final.

Dempseys Castle Street and O Neills on Marys Street are Irish pubs there of the top of my head that should be showing it

The game is on Sky Sports too, so its not like days of yore where a specialist channel or subscription required.

August what year I wonder... I purchased mine October 2014, and still no sign of them. For booking them a year in advance, I would bloody hope not to have to pick them up there.

    Will try that online query.

I know - definitely not ideal, especially when travelling for the matches! I can understand delays in late purchases, but you really should have received the ones from last year! Good luck:)

I only bought mine there at the end of may and had them out the first week of july. I'd definitely be getting onto them now about your tickets!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,349 ✭✭✭naughto

Being keeping an eye on the exchange yet the last few weeks to say we are going to get screwed is an understatement.
Going over on the 25th for the Romania game with about 15 headers flying from knock. Booked it this time last yr so got the flights for half nothing. Brother booked the match tickets and got them a few weeks ago.

Yes, well 15 calls to the phone lines have gone unanswered Or, "we are currently experiencing very high call volumes" followed by a disconnect.

I've submitted that form, so will see if I hear anything by wednesday. I hate disorganisation like this. Makes me think the event will be a total shambles of poor organisation as well.

Two of us landing in Birmingham the morning of Sunday 11th at 11.10 for the French game and leaving on Monday 12th at 8.05am - going to stay in Birmingham on the Sunday night. Just wondering if anyone has similar travel plans and would consider sharing a taxi either from Birmingham to Cardiff on the Sunday morning or/and back to Birmingham on the Sunday evening after the match.
