Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To boost crowds at hurling, should the first Leinster Hurling and Football Matches be held on the same day in croke park?

    no.

they are playing the hurling in Wexford park and will have about 15,000 at it if not more. its bad enough that Dublin get all their football in Croke Park, no need for them to be doing the same for the hurling. if they had the hurling in with the football, they wouldnt get anymore than they already are getting for what would attend the football.

Should be playing the football in Portlaoise too. Laois are well overdue a home game v Dublin by now. 20,000/25,000 packed in there Sunday would make it interesting. A half full Croker with no atmosphere will be as boring as every year.

I agree the dublin travelling supporters are very good for local stadia and the coffers and towns like Port Laoise and Wexford - and too often matches are staged in Croke Park -
But it would be beneficial to Hurling if Dublins GAA got more support and trying to have double headers with the football could grow this and ultimately mean there would be a larger travelling Dublin Hurling contingent

if the reigning Leinster champions cant get supporters to follow them just because the game is on an hour and a half south of them, then thats their own problem. It would be beneficial to Wexford to have the game at home, as it was drawn. Why should others have to sacrifice to continue boosting the reigning Leinster title holders who have already had a head start of €6m+ of direct GAA money over the rest of the competing counties?

Spot on! It's up to their own CB now to promote and encourage attendances
Instead of going yet again to HQ rattling a tin can

Double headers rarely work because you have people only interested in 1 of the games, if the footballers were on first you'd have the hurlers playing in front of an exiting crowd, like Clare last year. I also think double headers are an unfair advantage when 1 county is in 2 games and other counties are only in 1

As a fan, yes it would be great. I love double headers. But its should only happen on a regular basis, if it is a nationwide thing and all counties get to have double headers, not just us. So if there is a Dubs double header in Croke Park one week, the DCB should be willing to participate in one in Wexford/Cork/Laois etc etc the following week, for the opposing county. Think its a bit of a non issue to honest. How many true dual counties are there now?

I agree with double headers and the idea of going to say pairc ui chaoimh for a double header would appeal to me also - i think footballers for counties like Limerick and Tipp would benefit of being coupled with their hurlers at a double header would also enhance their standing in their counties.
