Ive been looking for lamb sweetbreads in a few butchers around dublin 15 and I've been told that they're difficult to get and often they're not even available to order in. Apparently they're all exported straight from the abetoirs to the continent. So does anyone have any idea where I might get my hands on some in dublin?

Moved from Cooking & Recipes to Dublin City as the locals would be better able to advise you.

...FX Buckley's would be a good place to start.

As you mentioned D15, give these guys a buzz as they slaughter their own (I think, used to anyway) their meat is top class in my experience.

Try Fallon & Byrne too, they got me sweetbreads before. If you give them a few days notice they should be able to lay their hands on them. Other than that AFAIK there is a butcher in Rathgar who does all kinds of speciality meats and can order stuff in.
