To help celebrate our 9th (!) year of putting on parties and putting out records, on Saturday 28th of June, Lunar Disko will be teaming up with Hidden Agenda to bring one of the most exciting Djs & producers around to the Button Factory, Objekt. Since 2011 Objekt has been sporadically releasing records that defy any easy categorisation, meshing techno, bass and electro influences into a unique, abstract yet dancefloor friendly form, featuring on the likes of Hessle Audio, Young Turks and his own self-titled Imprint.
Regards his formidable djing skills, we’ve encountered him at the Dimensions and Free Rotation Festivals where he did his very best to lay waste to both of them with a bruising mix of techno, electro and broken beat grooves. He pretty much succeeded; easily delivering some of the finest dj sets we’ve witnessed in recent times. Expect a deftly mixed set of the less obvious, twisting and turning genres on their head in his own inimitable style.
The last year has seen the Lunar parties take a back seat to the label with releases from Submersible Machines And Slowburn keeping the home fires burnin’, while we’ve locked in with everyone’s favourite posse of reprobates, Gary’s Gang, for their monthly hoedown in Sweeney’s Basement (even the Irish Times knows whats up with The Gang, yo). So it only makes sense to get involved for what promises to be a rowdy one.
The Lunar Disko DJ squad will, of course, be setting the scene on the warm up, only enjoyin’ ourselves…
