Probably a bit far but the grounds of Johnstown castle are a great way to spend 5/6 hours if you just like to have a nice walk.

    The beach??

If you have kids, the Kia Ora farm is not bad - it's out toward Ballymoney.

    Seafield Hotel does decent grub.

If you're into 'real' Irish pubs be sure to visit French's on Main Street, Gorey and Redmond's, Scarawalsh (just near the turn-off for Bunclody on the main Dublin/Rosslare road. I'd be interested to hear of your experiences of the Bates Motel when you checkout. :D

If you're into gardens and cream teas (scones etc.) try the Bay Gardens, Camolin http://www.thebaygarden.com/ - don't try the scones in the ....Motel.

I'm sure that it's no worse than many 'so called' 4 star hotels left over by the Celtic Tiger.

Courtown Harbour http://www.courtownharbour.com/ can be fun with the kids - on a good day. Amusements, chips and sea air.
