Has there not been some reviews so far of the thing? I thought IGN had had a go of it a month or so back. I'm guessing you're talking about reviews of the entire game though, comprehensively.

Yeah those would be previews, and mostly monitored previews at that. They'll get invited to events where they can play a match or two or they'll be shown some new features.

The next-gen version of the game went out to a few YouTubers on Friday who make their own CAW videos etc to give them the weekend to mess around with it and play it.

Actual finished next-gen game reviews won't show up until Tuesday.

The IGN review was for x box 360/PS3 from few weeks ago. Still no sign of "next gen" version.

So have the You Tube people been banned from uploading any of their footage until Tuesday? I guess there are specific users who get a lot of subscribers and it is in the interest of WWE & 2K to include their users so that they can generate some positive publicity for the game.

Read some reports that people were downloading it now at around 4gb and that the 4gb was a playable demo with a few characters and 1v1 matches. then the rest of the game downloads in the background? Duno if thats true, surely there would have been word of that if that was the case.

Just finished downloading the 4GB part, and it's not a playable demo unfortunately. Tuesday morning can't come fast enough.

Hopefully they don't bother with the PS3 and 360 versions next year and just focus on one great next-gen game.

Nope, certain few of them were granted permission. However, they have been taking down videos of those that don't have permission. They can give first impressions and upload a few matches, but they can't give away the secrets and hidden stuff or an actual review until Tuesday.

Ah jaysis, nearly got the gawks when Taker stepped into the ring and his jacket phased through the ropes. Another new console, another new game and the same issues as back in 1997

I think I'll forgive them for not putting weeks into figuring out the physics for long coats and how to implement it.

Weeks? How long have Yukes been making these games?

It won't just be jackets going through the ropes anyway. We'll have hair, all outfits, hands, arms, legs. The lot.

In fairness, the last video was fairly decent, it's the little differences I enjoy. That women's MITB vid...I wanted to reach into the screen and violently assault the guy commentating on it. Sting and Wyatt VS Taker vids were nothing really, just someone playing exhibitions and uploading them.

If you wanted to violently assault the guy don't watch his hour long career mode video or you might bump it up to first degree murder.

My xbox live wont let me buy through the US store anymore it keeps telling me to buy from the region I'm from. I used to be able to buy from the US store no problem, no more Tuesday launches and cheaper games for me :(

The thing that really annoys me is how someone clearly clueless about wrestling gets a chance to review the game days before actual fans. I'd harbour a guess that there would be minimally 20 people on this forum alone ten times more qualified to get that opportunity.

He's a popular youtuber that specialises in wwe games. Given that I just watched him get confused by 2k15 mechanics on ps3, same as last few years, I wonder how he got so big.

    http://attackofthefanboy.com/news/wwe-2k15-missing-ton-match-types/

A list of all that's missing from the PS4 / XBONE version... No 1 on 1 ladder matches? Come on now...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,533 ✭✭✭Jester252

Apparently 1v1 ladder is under title match selection

I suppose that would make sense. I've a feeling that some of the missing stuff will be patched in at a later date anyhow.

I'm really looking forward to this regardless. Can't wait for just even a 1 on 1 match, with the likes of D. Bryan vs Punk etc.

Movie Pilot have broken the review embargo...

They've given the next gen version 5/10

However, all to be taken with a massive grain of salt. Movie Pilot is not a gaming site. The review seems to be copied and pasted in large part, in reference to the amended features available in the next gen game... and is if the credibility wasn't questioned enough - they used an image of Sting in the TNA Impact game for the article...

They also failed to review the MyCareer mode in any way, it only got a passing mention.

Game is being released one hour after Raw (5am) and thats when the reviews will start going up. If you're somehow up at that hour, I recommend these lads for a bit of craic: http://www.hitbox.tv/newLEGACYinc

My PSN is MitchKoobski and I'll be tearing into it at the weekend. Hope a few CAWs from the friends list show up in career mode!

And WWE's official YouTube account just got flooded with entrance videos. Expect Raw tonight to be filled with in-game footage. Here are some of the impressive ones for their likenesses.

And Warrior doesn't look like a mouldy potato anymore.

Do WWE approach them, or do they apply for permission, or how does that work?

WWE or the 2K community team approach them. If you're subscribed to the WWE or WWE2K YouTube accounts, they occasionally post stuff created by fans like match re-creations or guides for the games, but only from the ones they trust and like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Ah I always wondered about that. I had this sort of image of the video game guys being a bit like when Bart Simpson goes to the Mad Magazine offices in New York, just having the craic constantly.

IGN accidentally posted the review earlier before pulling it but the next gen score was 8.7
    not too shabby at all...
I honestly dont care about a lot of the modes that seem to be missing. 1v1 matches are the core of it for me anyway...
Friday cant come soon enough. I'll be on PS4, PSID: "seanironmaiden" if anyone's online

The main thing for me this year is the few nights that myself and a few of my friends have where we play Universe mode. So really it doesn't make a huge difference if the same glitches still haven't been fixed. In fact, I would be devastated if they fixed the one where it says reversed, yet you still get nailed by the move that your opponent was attempting. I like that.

Why do the animations for finishers in cut scenes always look terrible.
    Cena's AA done in reverse.

Justin Roberts sounds awful in Cesaro's entrance. Tin can sound.

    I'll nit-pick more once I play it tomorrow :P

Last 3 WWE game reviews from IGN

    12 - 9/10
    13 - 8.4/10
    14 - 8.7/10

IMO I dont think any of those games deseved that high a score so I wont be getting my hopes up yet :(
