Hi guys i am just wondering if anyone here eats parma ham on there pizza ?

One of my fave pizzas is a Margherita with Parma Ham and Rocket but i love my parma ham cold on my pizza e.g. not cooked.

Does anyone cook there Parma ham on there pizza ? As i find its extremely salty when cooked and tastes rotten

Generally if I'm putting parma or other cured hams on my pizza I put the slices on the hot pizza when it comes out of the oven and leave it to sit for a couple of minutes so that a) the fat melts slightly and b) when I take a bite I don't get 3rd degree cheese burns on my chin

Yup, I put it on raw at the end or sometimes a minute before the end of cooking.

I put Serrano ham on my pizzas and I cook it. I find it gets really crispy, like bacon! But yeah, it does get a bit salty.

It probably gets overly salty as it dehydrates further during cooking. Would it help if the ham were soaked in water prior to cooking?

Also, when I do pizza I like to put a hard cheese on at the beginning and put slices of mozzarella on towards the end of cooking so it holds some shape and texture.
