****ing amazing... got everything on the short questions, got almost everything on the experiments, and the long questions were handy since all the plant biology was only on one question! I answered all the other five!

Wtf was that last part of question 10 tho?

What was the last Q in Q10 about? I couldn't for the life of me think of any logical answer!!

    Hermaphrodite??

Nothing I studied came up but I thought it was still a nice paper overall.

Why are there more people suffering from Alzheimer's now than ever before? I got cheeky and wrote 'There are more people alive now than ever before' :pac:

Alzheimer's is increasing because people are living longer than ever before. You are way more likely to get alzheimer's if you are 70+ than if you are 40/50

I genuinely believe the correct answer is that the global population is at it's highest XD

I said it was due to increased longevity. There are more elderly people now than ever before, and Alzheimer's mainly affects elderly people, so it makes sense that there'd be a higher instance of Alzheimer's...

    Those experiments <3

I thought it was handy enough. Dont think I got my A1 but possibly a B1 :)

I went through the exam online with a fine-toothcomb and thought I had scrapped myself a C1

And well you know what really happened

I said with the advances in technology it is easier to diagnose so more people have it......... I was going to say population but thought it was too obvious :o

I think it was poorly worded then.

It said number of people with Alzheimer's is higher now than ever before. As far as I can see, both the higher life expectancy and higher than ever population should be valid answers.

But if it had said higher percentage of people with Alzheimer's, then the higher life expectancy would probably be the only acceptable answer out of those two.

Other than that genetics Q I thought it was a beautiful paper but yeah I agree, it was an exam suited to people with a broad knowledge of the subject rather than people focusing on certain aspects of the course. Appears to be the way they're headed!

Overall a difficult paper, not nearly as accessible as other years. Did all the questions and wasn't really pushed for time. Short questions were tricky I thought, as were the experiments, both were manageable. Long questions were awful. Really didn't like any of them. The detail required was unprecedented. But overall okay. Didn't like the lack of photo and respiration. No reproduction at all on the paper was a surprise. Thought we'd see a short Q at least! :(

Was the joint a ball and socket joint? :/

    The ankle? Hinge joint.

And does anyone know the answer to "name the type of particle whose movement out and in neurons is essential for impulse transmitting" ??

My teacher said it was a hinge joint, I wrote synovial joint and she said that they would give me the marks for that!

  • Registered Users Posts: 49 forevergold22

Dayum I had hinge down first and crossed it off :(
