Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

At least RTE don't rip the p1ss out of it and keep the vast majority of people at home.

Unlike the BBC and ITV who fly rubbish analysts across the world, put them up in top hotels for a month and then pay them as well, to talk nonsense. The BBC and ITV operations in Brazil must be costing a fortune. Jobs for the boys.

I always watch RTE before I'd watch a game on the other 2 channels, mainly for the analysts, although I can't stand KC, his voice goes through my brain and he is just cliche after cliche.

ITV is always a last resort, only if the game isn't on any other channel. It is awful

RTE pundits have become a pastiche of themselves, I can't bear listening to them. A bit of research wouldn't go amiss from time to time

Poor comparison as punditry is not like a real job.

That's because in punditry you can get away with only knowing 10% of your job.

Sounds like working in retail sales.

Anyone get the impression that Gilesy was harsh on Englands performance against Italy? There were poor enough against Uruguay but just get the impression hes reluctant to give them any bit of praise at all.

Kerr is great, he actually is very detailed even with his Dublin slang which I love as a Dubliner :pac:.

Can't remember which game it was but he said about one tackle "yer man's milled him ouvit!"

Saw a funny line on ESPN by Michael Ballack when being asked if he thought England should have done everything they could to have gotten John Terry on the plane to Brazil

"John Terry ,oh John Terry; he still owes me a Champions league title ,no don't talk about John now"

Overall the standard of commentating and punditry hasn't been the best in my opinion, RTE is entertaining for the wrong reasons most times, BBC can be good one moment and then shocking the next, and ITV...I can't last more than 5 minutes listening to Adrian Chiles

So far it seems Kerr is winning this world cup :D

I would have loved to see Keano on there, ripping the England performances to bits.

The Guardian podcast had an interesting fact today ....

The amount of times England have won a World Cup match since 1982 when it has been exclusively live on ITV .....

.......... once - 2006 against Trinidad and Tobago.

Interesting fact? Totally meaningless, superficial analysis that Football Weekly specialises in...

Since beating Kuwait in 1982, England have won one World Cup match exclusively live on ITV, vs Trinidad in 2006

I'm in the Brian Kerr fan club too. I was rolling around laughing the other night anytime he mentioned the Nigggggggggerians. Apart from his accent and his musings he has a superb footballing brain and is a real old school football man.

Cunningham missed an open goal by not mentioning Wayne Bridge and the effect that had as regards the Chelsea dressing room.

    Poor Didi.

All the while wondering where he'd put his phone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,762 ✭✭✭bmcc10

Dunphy just turned it all back on Kenny when he said where's the evidence he'd bring the dressing room together.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Kenny was sitting there all along waiting and waiting and waiting for something he could challenge Eamo over.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭DeanAustin

Jesus, Dunphy kicked Kenny's backside there. Wouldn't mind but Kenny was right.

I expect Kenny to come out swinging this time around.

Poor Didi just wants to analyse football matches, he didn't sign up for this carnage :(
