Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought an iPad Air and it came with a US plug (12W).

    This:

I have tried taking the supplied USB cable and using it with my Samsung phone charger which I can plug the USB cable into. My problem is that the iPad is taking literally ages to charge, at a rate of maybe 8% per hour. What am I doing wrong?

Well eh...you're using the wrong charger!buy a replacement official irish/uk adaptor from apple and that will do the trick.

Nothing, my guess is your Samsung charger is a lower wat rating than what the charger for an iPad is, so it's being charged slower. The iPad uses a 12W, whats is you Samsung?

My Samsung charger doesnt say what wattage it is. This is annoying after paying a small fortune for the iPad. I wonder if I use a travel adaptop with the supplied iPad charger, would that work?

Which Samsung phone do you have? Yes you can get adapters to make the US charger work with a socket here. Although be wary, don't just go for cheap adapter off eBay or something, if you got a dodgy one it could ruin your iPad, check out the Apple store online, I don't think the adapters cost much.

The voltage is probably too low. The iPad requires a 12 watt charger.

I wouldn’t recommend screwing around using different chargers. People have blown up their iDevices doing this. Either buy a whole new charger or get a UK 3-pin plug for the existing charger. If you know anyone with an iPad or Mac they might have a spare one. I don’t think Apple sell them on their own. Or just get a 2-pin travel adapter.

Make sure you use the right charger or you could ruin the battery! Even if you get a different brand charger to work doesn't mean you should use it
