    Hey people,

    Sorry for not being able to link pictures directly.
    So, my girlfriend was in the shower when the power went off, I made my way to the breaker board and I knew it was bad news before I opened it as I could smell the problem.

    The main fuse holder has be ruined, so it's not just a case of replacing the 63A fuse. Now that's okay, I know I can replace it but I have a couple of questions...

    The damage was one of two things (that I can think of), lose wiring or the gauge used was too low.

    I reckon it was low gauge wiring as there were two wires coming out of the fuse holder, one for the 63A ELCB which feeds four 20A breakers (sockets) and one that feeds everything else; the lights (two 10A breakers), the cooker (32A breaker), the immersion (40A breaker), and one of the two showers. There was originally only one electric shower, the addition of the second made changes to the labeling.

    The immersion is not used, and it's not labeled on the breaker board but I assume it is the immersion but labeled as a shower. As the two showers have a controller to ensure only one is run at a time, so the live wires for both must be at the shower switcher part of the breaker board.

    * Is 16mm^2 wiring used for 63A?
    * What about 40A?
    * Should there be another ELCB at the red dot?
    * Is there anything I should replace the main fuse with permanently? (anything more modern)

    Yeah... electrician's not an option at the minute, I'm capable, Summers as a teen were spent working with electricians but I'm not 100% on some of the standards used.
    Fact is, had a second shower put in couple of years ago (by a qualified sparks), wiring was changed, and I'm not confident with the wiring now that I taken some time to look at it.
    The links I gave need to be edited, I don't have permission for posting links, just swap out the [dot] for a "." and voila.

    Yes it is, you might just have to use Google a bit, make a few calls and put your hand in your pocket.

    No offence but a bit more than expertise than that is required.
