Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's not the only good thing about him. The fact that he's so good at such a young age is pretty good too, no? Schurrle is a better finisher and Willian works much harder but they are both much older than Sterling.

You haven't seen much of Andre since the world cup, have you?!
    His finishing has been woeful.

Didn't he score a goal the last time he started?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

Think his last goal was against City.
Hes had a few chances to get goals since (against Bolton he could have had a few) but hasn't scored.

I actualy think he is a very good player , i would let shurrle go before willian tho if we were to get him. Shurrle is good one week and brutal next week , hes not good enough for cfc

Andre is a workhorse and not a bad option to stick up front if we needed to.
    I'd keep the pup.

We dont need English players and to pay anything close to 50million for one would be stupid.

End of, weve our own English talent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,781 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

In the squad, atm we have Fabregas, Ake, Cahill and Terry as HG players in the first team. We have our quota of 17 foreign players, which does include Schwarzer and Drogba so there's 2 spots open next year.

A lot of our loaned players ain't hg, Van Ginkel, Kalas, Omeruo, Atsu, Thorgan, Pasalic, Romeu, none of them are home grown so if they are to come in someone will have to go out.

Cech will most likely be gone in Jan too.

Sterling's on another planet to any English talent Chelsea have at the moment, way ahead of Salah too.

Lewis Baker, Nathaniel Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Izzy Brown and Dominic Solanke are all highly rated at the club.

Mourinho said that if Baker, Brown and Solanke don't play for England, that they should blame him, that's how highly rated they are

So our young english talent are having a fine morning ,
The U-18's were 2-0 down to Aston villa there are at the moment 9-2 up

Sterling at £48m (allegedly), Shaw at £30m. Have I failed to keep up with valuations or is there a £10m-£20m premium on English players just because they're English and the requirements of the quota system?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

    Full Time: u-18 Chelsea 12-2 Aston Villa. Boga 3, Muheim 3, Abraham 2, Solanke 2, Scott 1, Ugbo 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Sterling at £48 million would turn out out to be a steal, he's the best young player in the world. He's still only 19, won't happen anyway but he is the most talented English player around.

And they were 2-0 down. Scary amount of talent.

Ah let the pool have it, they need something for there trophy cabinet this year.
Besides it'll get burried beneath the premier league FA cup and UCL throphys this season in ours.

It's the dream Henry had, has come to fruition again. Fair play to Liverpool ladies for keeping in the hunt. Chelsea fupped it up the last few weeks when it should have been a stroll to the line. Their budget is quite small though, and it's champions league football next year and massive stride forward from last season.

Dunno, these are the types of teams we struggled against last season

We're at home to Maribor on the Tuesday, that's the time to be resting a few players

Too bloody right, I booked tickets for that match too, hopefully from a purely selfish position we will see a pretty strong team.

Depends what shape he's in coming back from international duty. If he's fine, I'd put him on for 60 minutes against both Palace and Maribor, hoping for some early goals.

Petr's contract up Summer 2016 would be a good deal that one.

I wouldn't normally be thankful for a chelsea player injury but thank Christ Andre wasn't able to come on against us last night.
