Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For sure Willian is great for this sort of match his workrate is exceptional , he has lightening pace and is not afraid to have a pop at goal. For me he gets the nod over Schurrle for big matches as he tracks back so much better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Yeah Willian will always start the big away games and rightly so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

If only Willian could bloody score

His end product, crossing and shooting is poor to terrible.

    Schurrle wins that battle, IMO.

I wouldnt be afraid of either starting for us though on Sunday but expect it'll be Willian as hes fit and playing well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

Willian is an excellent player and still quite young it will come

Hes just gone on 26, hes our oldest support player, amazing when you think Schurrle, hazard, Oscar, Salah are all 23 or under.

I think Willian sacrifices a lot for the team but he definitely needs to add more goals/assists to his game. I think he's a fantastic player though.

He's got one flaw, when he loses the ball he track back and invariably gives away a free with a terrible tackle, sometimes getting a card

I really like Willian. He puts his shift in, doesn't get pushed around, adds attacking bite and kind of links up. He's reliable. Has a brain Ramires would give his right leg for. Brings the kind of spirit and commitment Ivan brings.

    He's a real asset.

Watch willian get a winner now sunday. :P

I think willian is a serious player , he does give the ball away a fair bit but his overall game is decent

A dive and a red card that should never have been cost Chelsea the 3 points there. Fúking joke that is. Where did 4 minutes added on come from anyway? Fúcking Phil Dowd... hope someone pisses into his cornflakes in the morning.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Nice how Dowd completely screwed us on the two big decisions in front of the Stretford end.

Didn't give the stonewall penalty in the 1st half
Gives a bull**** free kick and second yellow for Di Maria falling over.

Feck it we should have pushed on at 1-0 and got a second anyway.
Sickening to have dropped 2 points like that when Courtois was immense throughout the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,781 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

The amount of easy fouls given. More than half of Chelsea's players got cards and really they were got for nothing, Rafael got a yellow for nothing too.

Feels like a lose after playing so well

When dropping points at home is something to p*ss your pants over and get excited about you know how far you've fallen.

Another point further in front of the genuine challengers, another difficult away game chalked off. Job done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,431 ✭✭✭rottie 11

At least we are stil unbeaten anyway , droppd points to the 2 manchester teams away from home. Were going good imo

When your worst performance of the season is conceding a stoppage time equaliser at Old Trafford, life could be a lot worse.

A clear and unequivocal foul by Ivanovich at the end, he stepped on Di Marias ankle and took him down.

There was contact, but he souks have never been on a yellow. Di Maria went down like a bag of spuds it wasnt even a free.

I think steeped on is a little much in fairness, from the blue corner it looked like an accidental coming together, it's debatable weather it deserved a yellow but I think it was harsh.

No, it was clearly a foul and given his persistent fouling, a deserved yellow card. Just because he stupidly talked himself into the first booking doesnt mean he didnt deserve the second one.

I've calmed down a bit now. Not a complete disaster... Unbeaten, and Chelsea can still thrash the head off them in Stamford Bridge anyway. Be grand. 6 points clear at the top, and 2 of the most tricky away fixtures of the season done and dusted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Draw was probably fair but infuriating letting the lead slip like that.

Whats the story with Phil Dowd ? isn't it known that he's a united fan ?

why's he allowed to ref games at Old Traf. ????

Anyway, I can see a few more easy points being dropped from here on ,
gotta still see city as favourites ..

It didn't really. If you're playing for a 0-1 as Chelsea under Mourinho so often do, that will happen in the last minute. 0-1 at City too and were pegged back. 1-0 up against Schalke. Big games.

Why wasn't the goal advantage built upon long before the red card ever happened?

Oh great .. QPR next, city to have the gap to at least 4 points next week ..

and great Liverpool the week after .... should be level with City by then...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,269 ✭✭✭Tubbs4

Dont want Barkley, no way. We've got Oscar, Hazard and Willian who are going to occupy that position for 4-5 years hopefully.

better get to 40 points quick or we will be trouble if we can't beat qpr. Still a good weekend as pull a bit away from city and still unbeaten.
