Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2 more points dropped I think

Mikel and Schurrle were cat, Luis and Ivanovic couldn't deliver a decent ball and what does Remy do to have to get some minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Terrible draw.

Robbed off a stone wall penalty though after a "dive"

    Ref was f**king useless.

Last years **** away form continues

I hate this policy of trying to pass our way in, anyone with a decent foot upfront should be hitting it on sight with space on the edge of the box

Am I correct, is that the 3rd time at least that a chelsea player's been booked for diving when they have been in fact fouled or at least impeded?

    Yup costa twice.

3 fouls, 2 penalties, 3 yellows for diving.

Its a joke and i hope Jose aays it too, its a disgrace really especailly today as it has cost us 3 pts

  • Registered Users Posts: 429 ✭✭BarcodeMuncher

What annoys me is none of the front players have dived but rather the supposed hardier players of Cahill and Ivanovic, two of em need to man up and so do all referees

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Gutted we didn't win it in the end , C’mon Burnley get the finger out!

Weve a name now it seems , unless a player is hacked like Hazard it wont be a free or penalty.

That call today is terrible the linesman needs to help taylor make that call how both missed it ill never know

If we are top after the Spurs game I won't be too disappointed by today, we will be in a great position then with Spurs, Southampton, Liverpool, United, City and Everton away done and dusted.

5 pts from the last 12 away from home iant even top 4 material its terrible actually and could easily cost us the title come may

At least Burnley getting an offside goal is some kind of justice. Fingers crossed they can pull themselves back into it.

Frustrating today. We should have won but we were just trying to walk it in. Not enough shots on target and just overplaying everything, just wish they'd have a pop more often. Didn't see the first half, though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

Frustrating. Why Hazard decided to dribble when the ball came to him in the box midway through the second half and not hit it i'll never know. We were like Arsenal today, trying to score the perfect goal.

Referee was a shambles from start to finish. Some of his decisions baffled me.

Filipe Luis was very poor. Schurrle anonymous.

    Roll on Spurs

City drawing after draw. F**k sake.

Killing ourselves. Makes the draw f**king worse.

Dropping points away to Southampton is better than at home to Burnley IMO.

And the offside goal is a just dessert after the no-pen in our game.

City , utd, spurs and us dropped points. Good weekend for arsenal , good for us too that city drew . Wasn't expecting it tbh so I'm delighted still 3 points clear. A win at spurs would be great

Mikel and Schurrle were cat, Luis and Ivanovic couldn't deliver a decent ball and what does Remy do to have to get some minutes
Schurrle offered nothing. Willian was too dainty and didn't change much over Shirley. Mikel was OK. He holds up space and is hard to get past. Luis was very hit and miss. I thought Ivan was OK.

Overall, Hazard dug us out. Cesc was alright. I thought he looked a bit tired/off. We had bad luck with the peno, and then two slips by Costa and Cesc which could have really counted.

In the event, a draw wasn't a bad result. However, I can't help feeling we still need to strengthen our squad to have better options in games like this, which we could have won. I think Schurrle is likely to go. Willian is vulnerable too - he's good against loose, disorganised defences, but can't deal with brick walls like Hazard can.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

The performance was poor today and City let us off big time. To have a 3 point lead still after that dire away performance is lucky for us

that ref decision is still really annoying me too.

Id agree that willian and schurrle can easily be upgraded but its going to take a big expensive player to do it.

reus would be that player if he doesnt join Real.
Sanchez would, he wont be leaving arsenal
    Di maria likewise.

Sterling possibly? I'd imagine he'll leave Liverpool for CL football, Jose will want to sign an English player.

I'd love to see us get James Milner on a free to be honest

    Pogba Matic
    Reus Fabregas Hazard
    Costa

James Milner? Jaysus not a hope at all.

Sterling ya but he'd cost a fortune.

Robben? Its not 2004 at all :o

Bale would be exceptional but Real would never sell him and not for over 100million.

He's a solid player for free, decent wages. Works hard, has abit of pace. Technically very under rated. Constantly put in either man of the match displays in big games in the past i.e Chelsea and United and has scored at Bayern! Only City player that has done themselves justice in European games (Until Aguero got the hattrick against Bayern) but he's world class which is annoying why we didn't sign him when we were so heavily linked to him and he would have been perfect at the time too.

theres every chance this wont be the last time they drop points at home, our away form is shaky but at home, we win.

    Its whats keeping us top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

If I'm posting this dream team its totla tongue in cheek but next year I'd like to see us go with

    Courtois
    Ivan Hummels JT Azp
    Pogba Matic
    Bale Cesc hazard
    Costa

    2nd GK
    Zouma Luis
    Oscar Willian
    Remy Bamford

RW is a big problem, Willina is our best current player and he doesnt score or create enough for me, Bale is a non starter too IMO but so too are the other options that I'd like

    Di Maria, Sanchez, Sterling.

Reus could be gettable but he looks set for Real, if reports are correct.

CB, we need a younger better version than Cahill, get Hummels. Zouma is more than capable and so to is Kalas so theyre back ups.

RB, could improve, I'd like Clyne from Southampton hes showing good promise.

We need a GK too as Cech will leave, schwarzer is a stop gap and Blackman is terrible.

Hazard signing an extension until 2020 is expected very soon.

Good move too, if he stays were pretty much sorted for the next 5 years.
