Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

SkyItalia journo Di Marzio posted on his website that Wolfsburg are prepared to make a bid of 30 mil for Schürrle. Thoughts?

I'd personally take the money and run, even though I like him as a personality, but not impressed as a player this season. He might be suffering from post WC year and might be much better next year, but we need him performing now. Cant have players going through the season like that. Disclaimer: I know he's been a bit sick previously, still though.
Jose will have to have a replacement lined up before selling Schurrle on. The squad is thin enough, and we need options, not least if we ship injuries.

I hear Reus being mentioned. But ultimately I feel this is a position we could easily improve on. Am I right in saying that we haven't had a strong performer on the right since Robben.

Mata started his chelsea career there before being moved in field but ya, in terms of absolute quality Robben was the last excellent performer out there.

Robben played on the left, he played Duff on the right. It's been a while anyways. Anelka was quality on the right when we had Drogba up front. Joe Cole had a good season there too.

Schurrle is better from the left but Hazard has that locked down.

Talking of Hazard, Holland has been rowing in in his defence. Quite rightly, too.
Chelsea assistant-coach Steve Holland insists Eden Hazard has the right to protect himself from potentially career-ending tackles.

Hazard is frequently on the receiving end of hard challenges yet to Holland's dismay, gifted players like the Belgium forward are criticised for spending too much time in the air after jumping to avoid serious harm.
    http://www.espnfc.com/chelsea/story/2235540/chelseas-steve-holland-calls-for-greater-scrutiny-of-challenges-on-eden-hazard

The powers-that-be better get their finger out on that one pronto.

Hazard is able to look after himself but the focusing all the attention on refs and their decisions could easily instill a certain mind frame between the refs when they take charge of our games.

I just be hope we start well today and win.

If Schurrle does go, who is there to replace him? Mourinho is usually very specific on the type of player he wants. I'm at a loss to think of anyone who's sufficient to replace him that isn't already part of your squad.

A very attacking winger that will score and create or clone Hazard :pac:

So last time we played Newcastle at the Bridge Hazard got a hat trick, his 1st Chelsea goal was against Newcastle too.

Hazard or costa goals would be nice today.

We need a big performance today. A title warning. We're having our best season in years and City have still matched us with key players injured.

These are the games where we should be putting 4 or 5 by them to be honest.

JT becomes our joint 3rd player on highest appearances with Lamps on 648 games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Courtois just said hes not starting today as his thumb is still not 100%.

Good to rest him at home and at least our number 2 is pretty decent.

Harris on 795 appearances, Bonetti on 729

Jt has some way to go to catch either.

    Hopefully bloody not.

Id prefer Costa and Remy than Bony.

Costa cost us only 2 million more just for a bit of perspective.

I dont think Bony is worth 30million but if City want him theyll have to pay a premium.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Costa looks a bit cold.
