Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pogba will count as a home grown player too, as he spent 3 years before turning 21 at United

Moses is better than Messi and Bogarde was better than Maldini.

CFC reportedly negotiating a sensational double exchange of Mikel and Ba plus cash for Messi and Neymar, after Besiktas drop their interest in the Senegalese striker, and Barca look to cut their losses on underperforming WC stars.

    More to come...

Just seen a stat saying we became the 1st team to have 3 different hat trick scorers in 3 different EPL years.

    Eto,hazard,schurrle -13/14

    Drogba, kalou, lampard - 09/10

    Flo,Vialli,zola - 97/98

I hear were in for Lahm, part exchange involving Mikel, Ba and Torres plus cash.
    Don't need lahm.

Well, on the cash side of the deal, some beastly Norwegian sources on Twitter are suggesting a five figure sum (in NKR of course). Now Messi has quite obviously gone into serious decline, and to be fair Ba still has something in the tank. So I wouldn't pooh pooh the rumours in advance of verification in more reliable print sources such as the Mail and Metro.

Seriously tho I'm beginning to think that pogba could be a realistic target, all be it at a ludicrous price. I just think with Conte leaving that squad is in for a lot of disruption.

Dunno. Lahm's pretty useful about the place. Defence and midfield and whatnot. In the kitchen as well no doubt. Ba seems to be the central makeweight linchpin in these truly sensational rumours. We also seem to have spare cash.

With all the cash left over from the other rumoured deals, CFC can make a pretty serious pitch for Pogba (seriously).

Rambo and Ba out. Pogba and Drogba in.

    Sheepishly,
    McDave

More than a bit disappointed he didn't take a wage cut to sweeten the Costa deal. Can we please please just sell all the deadwood, all of it and if injuries or fatigue arise, throw in Loftus Cheek, Bambford and Christensen into the deep end. Squad depth and all that but I would love to see Van Ginkel given a fair shot as well, buying Pogba won't do that. Ironic to complain with Costa and Fabregas coming as it is but ..but ..my fantasy

    Ba gone? http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/transfer-window/besiktas-claim-to-have-agreed-fee-for-chelseas-demba-ba-30434250.html

Probably for a similar price that we paid for Ba.

We'll always have the last minute goal against PSG at the Bridge and of course the most important goal for him at Anfield.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

Have to say I am delighted that Costa has signed I really believe everyone else is going to hate him. He is a knarley, grumpy, miserable SOB and that is only to his team mates. He can go to ground just a little easy sometimes (but no where near as bad as slipper) I really hope he just p*sses people off big time as we are a much better team when absolutely hated by all and sundry.

The (not so) old (that you need a degree in history to remember mind you) glory days are all but back. The stars are lining up you can see it

    TSHO
    A young world class keeper
A solid defence (ish ok we still have Ivan but it certainly is a WIP)
    A ex Arsenal icon
A brute of a centre forward

United will be very tough this year and not sure what City doing (will of course be there or there about very good team) but anyone who finishes above us will win it I think.

Still think if Ba was given a decent run with us then he could have been a very handy back up. Clumsy as hell at times for sure but a good nose for goal (peach against United as well).

He is almost certainly gone but would much prefer to start the season with Costa, Lukaku and Ba than Costa, Lukaku and Torres. But the best of luck to him shame really.

Schurrle has played well in the WC, more so than Hazard, Oscar, Willian.

The way the team is linging up we're going to improve on every aspect of our starting XI from last year, some areas more than others, CF, CM, mainly.

    Happy enough with that.

Ba is gone to Besiktas as well for definite.

I just re-watched his goal at Anfield. I never noticed before that he nearly took Skrtel out when he spun away after netting! :D

Just some more lulz from the Daily Fail:
The reality is that a Chelsea player, Andre Schurrle, was more influential for Germany than the three Gooners combined.
Yet I don’t hear Chelsea fans trying to claim they won the World Cup. Probably because they aren’t so desperate to claim any kind of football success as Arsenal supporters are.
