Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Good signing lads. Reckon he will be playing beside Matic as one of the central midfield 2?

    Still though...

Well f**k me, I didnt expect this, not today. :pac:

    Delighted, great news.

Surprised Cesc was done before Costa though.

    Anyway, roll on the EPL.

    I'd guess a midfield 3.

    ----Matic----
    Cesc---Oscar

With 2 wingers and a CF, like Joses 1st term at Chelsea.

Knew it would be done :) Cesc welcome to Chelsea!

Makes me wonder why hasn't Costa been announced though......

It's a formation he likes, makes sense.

Hazard and Willian on the wings?

Ya, and in Salah and Schurrle you've capable backups, especially in Schurrles case, Salah is still very green to the EPL IMO.

Still needs a physical force, so a Costa or Lukaku or both, completes the jigsaw for a few years it looks like.

Will be happier when we have proper strikers in tow, decent signing all the same.

    Buzzing. What a signing

Is there any site which keeps track of world cup goals per club, we have to come out on top one would think

Yup, If we get in Costa or sign Lukaku to anew deal, I'll be happy.

Good to see he has seen the light on TSHO, better late than never I guess

They have an amazing squad of players and an incredible manager.

    homegrown as well, thanks Wenger!

Happy enough with that! Good to have the transfers locked up early, although it looks like Costa will drag out a bit more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Now, get Costa in and we'll be slight favourites for the league, depending on what City/Arsenal/Utd/Liverpool do of course but getting one major transfer done early is good.

We've sold Luiz and got Cesc and change, great deal.

24-27 million being reported. good price!

City have an excellent team but FFP may well hurt them, still think it will be a straight shoot out between them and us next season. Would love to take Richards off them, I know he is more a player you build a hospital rather than a team around but if fit he is very good and he is English as well.

Cesc is a fine player, still not sure he will roll up at SW6 though.

    Fab day lads. :)

And on that note Modric, Costa, Ronaldo, Messi and Suarez are fine players, still not sure they will roll up at SW6 though :D:D:D

Does that mean we have to start singing "let's talk about Cesc baby"

I guess any talk of a swap Ram for Modric has now fully gone out the window.

A decent LB and 2 strikers and that is us set for a good while really the team is quite young now. perhaps the Athletico LB may not be such a bad idea bring a little experience to the team.

Next season really should be quite exciting.

I think ye will play fabregas as a number 10 and as a number 10 I think yiu sold us a better player in Juan Mata

How much did Cesc come for?

I think your wrong, itll be in a 2 or 3 man CM role and that money we got for mata was re-invested brilliantly amd the money weve got for luiz is going on cesc. Had ya told me we could sell luiz and mata for Cesc, Costa, Zouma id take that all day.

£26.6 million seems to be the figure reported which would be what Pique said €33 million. Less than Fellaini so. :pac:

Less than Arsenal sold him for too if I remember correctly, meaning they got nothing of the 50% profit clause.

    BOOM that will do nicely

That's a great deal, less than fellaini and what we sold mata for.

We have been very shrewd with our transfers during the last two or three windows. Just as well as it's now squeaky bum time for uefa and there ffp.

Been playing at the top level since he was 16, already a veteran with best days possibly behind him.

O that's an argument that's being played out in this house, the youngest lad wants a fabergas jersey to piss off his arsenal fan older brother.

I know a parent shouldn't have favourites but if I were you I would be strongly inclined

One of the premier playmakers. It didn't quote work in Barcelona for Cesc for a variety of reasons but in the Premier League he is one of the finest players on the planet, of that there is no doubt.

In terms of what he means to Arsenal, his standing in world football, his upbringing in La Masia, this is undoubtedly my favourite ever Chelsea signing, words can barely describe how happy I am. Needless to say I will be getting the new Chelsea home jersey with Fabregas on the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Fabregas.

I took the attached photo on Monday at Camp Nou. I've a few others as well I'll post in the CSG forum when I get home. Haven't embedded the image because I can't edit from my phone and it's HUGE.

Absolutely delighted by this signing. Decent LB and Costa and it'll be a great summer.
