Turkish Airlines confirm on Twitter that they are our new shirt sponsors.

I can't find it on there page, do you have a link?
I'll be sad to see Samsung go but it won't be so bad as long as another electronics sponsor doesn't come on board, at least I won't have to replace the telly;)

Turkish Airlines logo is red and white!
I hope they change it for the shirt.

It'll probably be white, pretty much like this.

I think the Sporting game is very important tomorrow night, the biggest upside to the game is we've a day more recovery than Arsenal but I'm pretty confident of the game at the Bridge.

Yes, Arsenal have a chance but theyre missing so many i'd be confident we'll get the win, that'll put 9points between us and Arsenal and hopefully push the GD on too, throw in a clean sheet and it will be a perfect weekend.

The Sporting game isnt a must win game IMO, its a must not lose. Provided we beat Maribor home and away then a draw in Lisbon is grand. We'd still more than likely top the group. Lose tomorrow though and it gets messy.

At this stage of the Champions League im finding it hard to be as interested as I am in the Premier League. Arsenal is a much bigger game and so was Villa even in my mind.

Even though im always dead set on us winning the league first and foremost every season. Come May it will have been 5 years since we won the league, thats shocking bad IMO. We have to win it this season, just have to. Winning the Champions League in 2012 has glossed over some poor league campaigns.

as opposed to the 50 years you went before Roman?

In the context of his 11 year reign 3 league titles is pretty poor. Sacking Jose first time around was a huge mistake and this year it looks like we'll be very close to the league title with a bit of luck.

Im sure you know football goes in cycles, how many LFC fans would give anything for a league title given its pushing 3 decades since there last, Arsenal fans have had no success in nearly a decade before the FA cup.

Id gladly finish 4th in our Champs League group if it gave us mid weeks off, we'd p*ss the league.

Which is what i expected Utd to do with that squad and manager.

Ramires and Drogba didn't travel, looking forward to seeing Remy start up front.

Ramires and Didier Drogba were absent as the squad departed London ahead of tomorrow's Champions League game against Sporting Lisbon.

Ramires missed the weekend win against Aston Villa after sustaining a muscular injury during our 1-1 draw at Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho spoke about the Brazilian's condition in Friday's press conference, indicating tomorrow's game, as well as Sunday's clash with Arsenal, would come too soon for the midfielder.

Diego Costa was part of the travelling 20-player party, as were youngsters Nathan Ake and Mitchell Beeney.

Lewis Baker has not travelled while Andreas Christensen is with Adi Viveash’s Under-19 squad ahead of their UEFA Youth League game against Sporting, which kicks off at 3pm tomorrow.

Shortly after arrival in the Portuguese capital, Mourinho and one of his players will address the media at the venue for tomorrow’s game, Estadio Jose Alvalade.

    Travelling squad in full:

    Petr Cech
    Thibaut Courtois
    Mitchell Beeney
    Branislav Ivanovic
    Filipe Luis
    Cesc Fabregas
    Kurt Zouma
    Nathan Ake
    Oscar
    Eden Hazard
    John Mikel Obi
    Andre Schurrle
    Mohamed Salah
    Loic Remy
    Diego Costa
    Nemanja Matic
    Willian
    Gary Cahill
    John Terry
    Cesar Azpilicueta

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Beeney is one of the goal keepers isnt he?

Team for tomorrow, a few changes for me

    Cech
    Dave Cahill Zouma Luis
    Mikel Cesc
    Schurrle Willian Salah
    Remy

Rest Hazard, Courtois, Costa, Matic, Oscar and Ivan.

I'd lose tomorrow night if we can get 3 points against Arsenal.

League is more important this year, IMO.

Problem is, with the man upstairs desire for success in Europe and Jose's record, slacking off in Europe ain't really an option even though just like you the PL is the one I want.

We have a squad capable of challenging on both fronts but with peoples scare around costa and his hamstrings, squad management is important.

We've doing very well in the league and the UCL is noly just starting but I'd take a league title right now.

Jose has yet to bring us to a UCL Final, 4 semi finals now isnt it? It'll change eventually but I'd be surprised if its this year.

Drogba out for a couple of weeks with an ankle injury.

I would agree with killinator Gav; not sure Mr. Abramovich would share the same view as you on this one.

  • On the match tomorrow; I haven't watched much of Sporting Lisbon this season so not sure if there likely to cause youz any problems.
Apparently Nani is carrying his Man Utd 'Form' with him

Edit* Weird one I found of Nani trying to lift an injured player off the pitch lol

As long as hes fit for the weekend, Jose could also be bigging the injury up and Costa could be perfectly fit but doesnt want the burden of carrying a team on his shoulders.

And hes English, that adds crazy amounts on to any future transfer of a player thats half decent, see Jack Rodwell for a prime example.

Dont want Barkley, no way. We've got Oscar, Hazard and Willian who are going to occupy that position for 4-5 years hopefully.

him being english is the only reason i think we might go after him considering how close we are in terms of the breaking foreign player rule

I'd go cheaper again, 25million tops but they dont have to sell.

Theres cheaper options available if we want to do a Man City on it and pack the team of English fellas.

If you're going young, talented and English then I'm going for James Ward-Prowse although hes out for nearly 3months after surgery on a foot injury.

Read an article about Oscar there.. does he have the potential to replace Lampards 15-20 goals a season from deep?

I think he does. They actually scored identical goals at the weekend too :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Oscar said he wanted to get to 15 goals and he has the ability as long as he carries it past christmas, last year he tailed off with the WC in sight.

Although I think its time for Hazard to do a lot more also, hes to inconsistent and its very frustrating as the guy when hes on form is pretty much peerless in the league in his position.
