I'm going to a wedding at borris house in August. Can anyone recommend a hotel or a b & b in the area. I'm not too fussy just want something close to borris house so I won't have a job getting a taxi getting back!

    http://www.brendasbandb.ie/ says it's in Borris
http://www.barrowviewbedandbreakfast.com/ says two minutes, but not sure it is by car
http://www.tripadvisor.ie/Hotel_Review-g1048903-d3296155-Reviews-The_Forge-Borris_County_Carlow.html says people at weddings in Borris stayed at that place

I'm not aware of any B & B's on main street , other than hotel mentioned .

Brenda's is just outside the town , just 200 yards opposite Golf Club , but would be a decent walk at night from BH .
I stayed there and nice accomodation , ( owner is Lord Mayor of Borris )

You certainly won't be walking to Milltown B&B anyway ( abt 2 miles )

You will find Breens B & B in google , but this now a pub and funeral home - not sure if they have accomodation still. ( opposite church on main st. )

There used to be another one just down road from SH / BH , but its closed too ( Mitchells )

If you are arriving between 14th - 18th August , best use taxis as Annual Borris Fair is on , and it brings a lot of visitors to the town .

Taxis would be easy to arrange .

Oh, Borris House is so amazing for a wedding venue. The Step house is literally across the road. Brendas - you'd need a car, or a taxi to get there, well outside of the town, but a nice place. I think there is one more B&B up the road from the Step House, but not a clue what it's called. Maybe ring the Step House and ask them????
