Where they not all 1/8 because there was 8 options?

One of them what was the probability of getting 2H and 1T.
    Which could be H T H, T H H, H H T

But you see, there was 3 options for 2 heads and one tail, that would make it 3/8

I just put like 4/20 and multiplied by 360 to get the degrees. Can't remember all the angles off the top of my head though.

Got the slope to be 1/3
    1, -2 wasn't on the line.
    y - y1 = m ( x - x1)
As they're parallel m is the same

    y - (-2) = 1/3 (x - 1) (3)
    3y + 6 = x - 1
    x - 3y - 7 = 0

I got the slope to equal 1/6

Ah that was grand! Really happy as i think they were both easier papers than the mocks! Would love a B in those! Thank you SEC ;)

A few of my friends did I got 7:8 or 8:7 can't remember

How did you do it? I'm totally confused!

The formula for that weird shape was in the log book beside the cone! :P then it was something like 146pi:124pi or something can't remember the numbers but then I cancelled it down and it was 8:7, no idea if I'm right tho hahah

Oh I think it must be 7:8... I found the small cone that was cut out to create the frustum but never took it away from the big one. Wonder will I get any marks?

If you use the wrong formulas for questions would u get any marks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73 ✭✭Fifii

For the Shopping question should I have expressed it as a percentage or fraction or just as the number?:( I did miserably in that exam. Paper 2 should be my best:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 311 ✭✭Msrebeckyxo

I broke it down into 3:2 i think?? I divided the two bigger numbers by 7 i believe, i should get attempt marks anyways though as i had the same bigger numbers as everyone else!

Anyone else get 1:8 for the final ratio?

    I got 1:1 1/7

It was the ratio of the frustum (spelling??) to the original cone. You need to get the volume of the cone cut from the top and minus it from the total cone to get the volume of the frustum.
Volume of frustum:volume of original cone
Cancel and it should equal 1:1 1/7

    I think i got 0.875 : 1, frustrum : original cone.

100% certain:) Just wondering how people went about proving that the rectangle was a rectangle and also does AAA qualify as a similar triangle?:)

    How?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 72 ✭✭Oisin4

I thought paper 2 was easier. What was the answer to the swing question? for the last questiongot the volume of the frustum just by removing the volume of the smaller cone?

I used congruent triangles to prove it.
AAA implies the triangle is similar and not congruent, (i.e all same angles, lengths may not be the same size)
Can prove a triangle is congruent by:
    ASA
    SAS
    SSS
    RHS

Same, paper 2 was a lot easier.
Which part of the swing question?

For the frustum question; the formula was in the log tables and you just let one equal the other, say 147:168, can't remember the exact figures.

Yay! So is that (AAA)what you used for question where it asks if the two triangles were similar?:)

anyone else use the angle 37 degrees instead of 53 for the swing question and get an answer of like 5.6?
