Yeah liked that episode. I just knew he had to be shifty - it was definitely telegraphed a bit.

Hard to know what will happen in the finale.

Nice twist there with The Union even thought I should have seen it coming.
I don't really understand the twist. It was junior who started all this in the first place by asking for money. Why would he now help the union? Just because of the whole prostitution thing? If so why did he let the money get to the IA guy in the first place?

All gangsta folk drive Cadillac Escalades. Fact.

A bit of a limp finale. The court cased ended as expected, and the Union story trickled out too.
The "hypothetically" conversation was annoying - there is no way that would happen in real life.

It badly needed a couple of "holy s**t" revelations, but they didn't come (Sugar doesn't count).

To be continued maybe? The Dustin Maker appeal and Union trial?

Looks like they just used the finale to wrap up all story lines in case it's not renewed and didn't want to leave it on a cliffhanger.

Sugar gives the an out if the get renewed and want to continue a story line into season 3.

Yeah, it was a bit frustrating, alright. Low key finale, really.

If there is a season 3 I think I'll be giving it a miss. Unless Hildy and her plastic face are killed off.

Only now realising that Junior's played by an Irish bloke - A.J. Buckley. Can't say I noticed his natural accent slip through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

I think he left Ireland when his family moved to Canada when he was 10 something like that if I remember right it was an interview for Ghostfacers on Supernatural when someone asked him I'd say whatever Irish accent he had then is well gone by now.

Hah, now you mention Ghostfacers I can see it. Spotted him straight away in Narcos too.

Season 3 teasers returns June 19th.

Not sure what teasers you posted above AC (I assume the 10 second ones), so I'll post all 4. The last one is a 1 minute full trailer.

    Back on Sunday.

I enjoyed that opening episode. Three storylines on the go and all look strong for the season.

Just sitting down to watch it now..

That was a solid start to season 3

Plenty going on and should keep us glued all season

Yup, good opener. I'm looking forward to the next episode already.

The media in this are contemptible. The DA is a coward. They played the cancer scene pretty cold.

    Good show. :)

I think i'll give it a miss until the verdict is in on the whole season, the ending to the last one was a dire let down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

One storyline replaced quickly I thought they would drag out the cancer storyline all season.

The shooting storyline after they did the dirty deeds could be really good building tension.

Those detectives were in the nip!

Surprised they went that way with the cancer storyline, seemed strange. A bit abrupt.

Did anyone think the director was trying too hard with this episode? Lots of arty shots with things in the foreground partially obscuring faces. Came across as forced and pretentious.

    Yeah, it was abrupt.

Mario Siletti is such an eejit. The timing of this episode and the shooting, eh...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Well the Black Lives Matters storyline seems like it ended just as quick as the cancer storyline.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 10,309 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

I'm beginning to get confused with the quickly ending storylines this time around. It seems like the main story is Soletti, which is good, but the others are pretty much red herrings now and I'll be wary of anything that gets introduced. They're just chewing up screentime in an unproductive way. It almost feels like the writers came up with the Soletti vs. Katrina from Suits storyline, went with it but realised there wasn't a full season in it and drew a blank after that so concocted a few more harmless ones to fill in the time.

Yeah. I dunno, is how they're handling certain stories a Steven Bochco thing?

I keep forgetting this is on.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 10,309 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

I know! Is it just me or is it more forgettable this season or something. The storyline doesn't appear to be as gripping as earlier seasons.

What started out like it was going to be a top season has dropped of the radar for me.

It looks to me like there was a big change to the way they wanted this season to go after episode 3.

They dropped the Cancer & Black Lives Matters storylines very quickly both those were linked with the relationship growing between the main two characters and this could have worked over the course of a season with both of them under pressure for different reasons.

I'm guessing they dropped the Black Lives Matters storyline as it was to much hot potato issue so then there was no point going with the Cancer storyline either.

For this reason the D.A's drink driving storyline which was probably only meant to be a episode or two long becomes the main character storyline for the season along with the murder storyline.

First season was the murder trial.
    Second - Hildy's brother/police internal corruption, iirc.

I might just read the summaries on Wiki this time around.

Well the season finished like most of the season had gone as a damp squid.

Well the season finished like most of the season had gone as a damp squid.

Yeah, such a "what" ending... wouldn't surprise me if its cancelled

Well the season finished like most of the season had gone as a damp squid.

Squid are usually damp anyway. :)(Squib)

Weak end to a weak season. I was really expecting Melissa Danson to pop up at Mario's press conference and shoot him. Nope, that would be too much like an interesting development.

As it was, all stories just fizzled out without any payoffs whatsoever, and Mario got away with everything and became incredibly unlikable.

Meh. Hopefully they get a new writing team next year and shake things up. They still haven't topped season 1 (a great and interesting continuous story) - they need to go back to that formula.

Enjoyed season 1 but thought S2 was very poor with way too much going on..hopefully 3 will revert back.

That was season 3. I thought the seasons got progressively worse. Writers for season 4 need to look back at season 1 to understand what made it so good (a single story for people with above average attention spans)

It's been cancelled not surprising really after season 3 being really weak.
