Ill be moving in to a house from an apartment in the next month. I don't have too much belongings but will require a transit van. Does anyone know of any companies that are relatively cheap to rent a van for 1 day?

Also I will need boxes - is there anywhere to pick up cheap ones?

Argos and Ikea do packs of moving boxes, but you could always go to a business and ask if you can take some of their boxes off them.
As for van hire - quick google search should bring that up for you, alternatively adverts.ie have plenty of 'man with a van' ads.

You can get vans by the hour from GoCar if it works for you (limited locations)

Heard good things about this crowd: http://www.vantasks.ie/, the guy that runs it is a boardsie.

There's a deal with Ikea and Hertz that you can get a small car van for €55 a day or a larger transit for €65 a day - it's purely for moving house. We used it two weeks ago and found it great.

Go to your local supermarkets for the few days before and ask for boxes, crisp boxes tend to be a decent size! We got a good few just in one morning last week.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I need a man + van as I only have 2 cabinets to bring with me. I reckon a transit style van for the day will do it.

no prob, i was suggesting it because it was like job bidding so might end up being cheaper than hiring a van outright for the day and can be less hassle as you don't have to drop it back to the van hire place.. anyway just a suggestion, good luck with the move
