    Hi
    Hi All

Its my 50th birthday this year and herself has told me that I can buy watch up to 5K (woohoo) and am thinking hard and could get two crackers for it
5K? ooooh my gaaawd. I think I've wet myself. Ohh the vintage stuff I would look for with that budget. I'd be reckoning three crackers and high end ones too(inc an Omega Speedy with the "right" moon movement). Let me digest that for a bit... I'm also seeing a 1940's Hanhart in the mix.
So, her rule is easy...2 in, then 2 out
Very clued in on her part. Clearly you've unreal luck and taste in partners. Defo a keeper. :)

Out of curiosity why the price diff on tz and here?

£200 is approx €255 according to XE and many here (myself included) would have probably snapped it up at that price imo

yep, but one went for 175 last week... and you know TZ..they would be pointing that out every day

That was ridiculously cheap though. 3 have moved for 220-250 in the last 6 months or so as well.

I see a nice broad arrow on TZ....

It is a lovery watch and actually a great brand. In doing some research recently I found out that one of the guys that took Sinn from a small bespoke business to a large watch manufacturer was very influential in development at IWC and A. Lange & Söhne back in the 80's & 90's.

I've been after an 856 UTC for the best part of a year now and have pretty much given up on finding one at a decent price. I'm starting to come round to less is more with them and wouldn't mind one with just the Arabic numbers and nothing else on the dial.

I love them too. But I especially love the simplicity of the quarter Arabic dial and a 565 would do me fine.

OK, so, I have convinced myself that I should be saving for a Sinn and another thread on here has convinced me that I just can't get on with the auto only movement, so my SKX007 - acquired end of November 2014 from Creation is up for sale. Irish duty paid. Box and tags included. Comes on the Jubilee. Hardly worn out side of the first week and as a result is scratch free. The bezel lines up perfectly and it's quite accurate on the wrist. I'm throwing in a brand new unworn 22mm black leather strap with white stitching that I bought for this watch but never put on it. The stock Jubilee has been on it since day one. Asking for €170 PayPal gift or cash. Watch is as new and in Dublin. Will post photos tomorrow when the light is better for my mobile phone camera.

....NOOOOO!!!! Please don't tempt me like this!

An SKX007 is top of my list at the mo - but ready cash for a watch is not an option right now............

Great price for the watch and I'm sure it'll sell quickly.

    GLWS!

In fairness to other boredies here, and the Charter, you may want to post more details here.....it's a popular watch, and I'd be surprised if you didn't get a decent offer.

This is a want to buy rather than a swapping or selling post! Im
In the market for a Panerai again after flipping my last one which I really regret!
Ideally a 000 base logo, 048 or a 111 but will look at anything that's potentially on the market in the luminor or submersible range rather than radomir! Maybe a contact via PM or directly here if anybody has anything of interest :)

You have to admit it is a little amusing that apart from the fact that this thread is about selling and swapping watches, there is actually a thread on Creation & Customs about 5 threads below this.

My Seiko SKX007 is now withdrawn from sale.

Maybe the auto only movement isn't so bad after all. Just need to rotate my watches less frequently. And it's also pretty awesome In build and accuracy.

So my Railmaster is OHPF (hopefully it goes through! all the way to Amsterdam!)

So I am in the market for a new watch........

PM me if you have any!

I put a couple of bids on but they don't seem interested in doing a deal.

They are brand new at 380 plus 15 delivery so doesn't make sense to pay anymore than what I offered (in my head at least it doesn't).

Prob going to buy either a vintage Ocean 1 red or the ocean 2 white direct.

Apparently they are holding their value quiet well since Steinhart did the OVM2 dial change. Some are saying the OVM1 will increase in value down the line.

I personally like the new OVM2 better myself. Some on other sites are buying the OVM1 to make a couple of hundred quid in 5 years time? Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Sounds like a very high risk investment to me. Or maybe just an excuse to by another watch.

You see Steinharts going for stupid money on eBay (as in way over RRP), though they could be up there for ages and not actually selling, for all I know. Did Steinhart increase prices actually? Coulda sworn the OVM was 350 originally.

Yep price increase about 2 weeks ago. They were being hammered on exchange rates so had to do it, there was a press release floating around.

Lots of watches go for stupid money on ebay though. Non vintage tends to be priced at a premium on ebay for some reason.

Lots of watches go for stupid money on ebay though.
Very true M. Ebay is only a gauge of a watches value if you track actual sale prices over time. Certainly in the vintage market. I've seen wildly differing prices for the same model and variances over time too. It can be a very volatile market.

Trends can really influence some models too where a watch that normally went for say 200 quid suddenly goes for 500 consistently. EG "Trench" watches are strong at the moment, what with the background interest in the Great War. Good examples in open auction are going for double or more the price they were 4 years ago. Other trends big up watches that were/are of little value. Sicura are a good example. The incredibly tenuous link with Breitling has a horde of the naive and dealers being "creative" with the truth pushing values up.

Dealer prices are invariably daft. A third more than a fair price and often double or more. And unlike in the real world buying from an ebay dealer gives you no guarantee of either service history or quality. Avoid unless desperate, insane in the membrane, or wealthy beyond the dreams of avarice.

There is one area where you can get true bargains that you wouldn't get in actual bricks and mortar auction houses.. And in an unexpected area with it. Actually rare watches. The kind of watches where google comes up empty unless you really know what you're looking for and they never come up on the Bay so sellers don't know what they have and dunno how much to ask. Saw that recently with a Longines model that a google search will get you nada and even digging deeper will only get you a crappy photo of one. They were made in truly tiny numbers. Talking in the tens of examples if that. Two came up on the Bay in the same week from two different sellers. Both dealers funny enough. Both examples were NOS. Immaculate with fantastic photos. The first went for around 500 quid, the second went for 900*. Five or six of the same bidders in each. Stick one of those in a Sotheby specialised watch auction and I'd bet the farm 3000 and up would be the result.

*usually means a small number of potential buyers, where some lowball bid on the first auction chancing their arm, lose and go mad on the second.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Thinking of selling this one

The Seiko SNZG13. Automatic. Non hacking or hand winding.

    DlZJGsI.jpg

It needs to make way for a new purchase. I bought it from creation about two years ago. It, as far I can tell keeps good time.

There are no scratches anywhere except for a couple of small ones in the clasp. As the clasp is brushed, they are hardly noticeable.

I have a box for it.

    Looking for €100.

    Thanks.

Amazing what a house move will motivate you to do :)

I have a beautiful (in my eyes anyway) Raymond Weil Traditional mens watch, complete with all paperwork and original boxes etc. I bought it mid 2012 in Weirs on Grafton Street, and if I say I've worn it a dozen times since then I'd probably be exaggerating!

As a result it's in practically mint condition and just needs a home where it'll get more attention than I can give it.

It doesn't get the wrist time it deserves, and as I'm in the midst of a general clearout I've decided to try and pass it on to someone who will give it more attention than I do.

I've included some pictures below, if anybody has any questions let me know. All reasonable offers considered, and I'm based in Dublin.

I think (although I'm not 100%) that I paid around €700 for it when I bought it, it was certainly there or thereabouts.
