Love Torchlight 2,if your into ARPG's its insanely good value at that price imo.

Also has Steam workshop support so plenty of mods to sift through

Anyone play Brothers? I know it's only €2.99 but if I cave on this then I may cave on others.
Also Sir, You are Being Haunted and Killer is Dead?

Someone here recently wrote off Brothers as being crap. Can't remember who, but if they're about can they give us more info? Up until then, I had heard good things.

Also, Sir, You are Being Haunted sounds like it would be a lot more fun than Sir, You are Being Hunted. :pac: Seems like it's had mixed reviews, and Killer is Dead is supposed to be more style over substance, fwiw.

I had forgotten how good the GTA series is. The last game I played was San Andreas on PS2 about 8 years ago, so went and bought the GTA IV + San Andreas bundle today on Steam for 8 or 9 quid...

Brothers is well worth picking up, not a challenging game but great in terms of story telling and the feels.

Thought Brothers was absolutely excellent, highly recommend it.

Feck it, just bought Shadow Warrior and I want Darksiders as well. In fact, I also want Age of Wonders III but I don't think I can bring myself to spend €20 on one game in a Steam sale. €400 on 47 different games*, yes. But not €20 on just one. :pac:

    *spending exaggerated for comedic purposes

Think they were banned for attempting to stir up trouble. :pac:

I played it recently all in one sitting. Just hooks you easily enough and once you get used to the controls, you'll be flying. As has been said it's a story based game so don't expect heavy action.

Yeah it's good but it's mainly a story than a game imho.

The odd platform-y bits, but very basic. Gets pretty emotional though *sniff*

Maybe one day but I dont think morrowind even goes below that so if you want it I would just get it now as you'll be looking at Fallout 7 before it happens.

The lowest price on Steam was €4.99. The lowest ever was €2.50.

Careful with Fallout 3 on Windows 7. It's a nightmare to get working for some people (i could never manage it the last time i tried).

I have 8.1, think I might pick up Fallout 3 for 4.99 and New Vegas UE for 6.79.

Hopefully Casual Comedy wins the Community Choice this time. Will definitely pick up Broken Age.

New Vegas was fine for me, just F3 that had issues. Not sure about Windows 8.

I've not bothered with much at all for this sale, last year I was mopping up the bargains! The Syberia Collection for €1.49 seems like a good deal...I played the first few hours of the first game a few years ago & enjoyed it, so feck it - http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8224/

Gah! Just spent another €20. Think i'm up to about €100 spent now. God damn it :P

Kentucky Route Zero has been on my list for a while though.

    I demand a list! :D

I didn't see €100 worth of games there whereas in previous years I'd have easily hit that number by now.

I got it for 4.99 in the last sale, wonder why it and FO3 are only 66% off this time?

Not quite €100 yet, as I didn't get Wasteland 2 or Divinity Original Sin in the end, but think it's around €60-€70 so far. Will easily reach €100 though :o

This is the list so far, though i think there's one more somewhere...

    Amnesia: Bay of Pigs
    Kingdom of Amalur
    Prison Architect
    State of Decay
    Bulletstorm
    The Walking Dead s2
    The Wolf Among Us
    Borderlands 2 season pass
    Red Alert 3
    Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
    Kentucky Route Zero
    Metro Last Light Complete
    Tomb Raider

Well, that was my first Steam Summer Sale experience. I only had a budget of 30 euro but I got a pretty decent package of games.

Medieval II Total War & Kingdoms
    Dragon Age Origins Deluxe
    Tropico 4
    Hitman Absolution
    Castle Crashers
    Just Cause 2
    Shogun 2 Total War

and over to GOG.com I got Total Annihilation Kingdoms, Omerta, and Torchlight

To get Rise of the Triad on gog for just over 2 euro or on Steam for 5?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

That said I really wanna buy Thief 3 and Torchlight 2 :(

Keep an eye on gog.com. I got thief 1-3 in a pack for something like $5 the other day. They don't have torchlight 2 though... but they do have the first one free at the moment, only for another hour.

I know the rule is always wait in case of flash sale... but I really am tempted to just buy RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 for half off for €7.50 total...

It was cheaper on steam last Christmas. €2.75/50 possibly.
Last time I checked, the steam one was better supported in terms of patches. I think they overhauled the patching system on the gog one after initial problems, so it's most likely the same either way - apart from price.

I'd get it on gog for now. If you really enjoy it and want a copy for steam, get it if the price falls again. That way, you'll have only paid around the €5 mark that you would have paid for steam and have both versions.

Edit: It was €2.79 last year on steam.

If anyone is interested in Age of Wonders 3, I've got a few copies that I'm trading for 6 Mann Co. Supply Crate Keys (TF2 keys). The keys cost around 1.65 each from the steam marketplace. Add me if you're interested @ http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198071900206/

State of Decay was a cool open world game. Fallout 3/ Fallout New Vegas if you haven't played it, is FPS RPG Open World. Metro: Last light is a really cool FPS too pretty scary and very atmospheric.

Depending on what sort of FPS you like I'd recommend Insurgency. Very tactical shooter but a lot of fun and very competitive.

Also Project Zomboid because I love indie games and I love Zombies :pac: Its Early access but lots of fun.

Also DayZ is hours and hours of fun, even if the game is far from finished. I clocked about 300 hours on it and stopped playing it months ago, before loads of new stuff was added.

Fallout sounds perfect if you like FPSs and open world games. Torchlight is like diablo. You have a character and slaughter everything for loot getting xp and leveling like an RPG with less story and more killing. All those diablo like games are quite similar so easy to figure out if its your sort of thing.

I guess it was me. Most over rated crap and my worst item bought on sale. 4eu that I will never get back.
A lot of people just jizzed in their pants and all over each other faces, but I was bored and meh about it.
It did had a few nice visuals here and there, but gameplay was meh and I just wanted to get over it as fast as possible
I don't know why people praise the story so much. Without even giving any spoilers I bet already you know how it will end, due to all "emotional" comments. And yes, that's the pinnacle of story and nothing else.

I get emotional in good games and I did had a "manly tear" in games like Walking dead, but Brothers were just annoying and not emotional one bit for me. For me it was just " I see where you going with it, so do it faster and get over it. What that was it? Okay... "

I guess its worth if it's a euro, but not more. Ands it's definitely not. The best thing since blowjob was invented, as much as some people would like to make it out it to be.

Bought it last night, mostly because I have a controller that I bought for Dark Souls and felt like I should probably use it for something else. Played about half an hour of it before bed, it's all right so far. Not sure it will live up to the hype but I expect I'll get my €2.50 worth out of it.

Got Brothers when it was on PS+, great "game".

As somebody mentioned above, I'd imagine a controller would be damn near essential for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 963 ✭✭✭James74

It's not on the store front page but I just noticed that Trine 2 The Complete Story is €2.54. A bargain for a really fun game, and probably one of the prettiest things to appear on a screen.

They are not connected in anyway. Splinter Cell ended and died with Double Agent, Conviction was basically 24 the game featuring Sam Fisher. In Black List your are still called Sam Fisher but you are not even the same guy anymore but everyone acts like you are.

If you want to get the best Splinter Cell ever made get Chaos Theory, it's better than any of the others imo.
