Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Guys need help, what game would you recommend to buy in the encore sale the most.Have far cry 3,tomb raider, csgo, brothers, metro last light. Looking for a good singleplayer game in the encore sale which is not one of these games. All suggestions welcome.

The Stanley Parable is a good single player. Short but fun and unique.
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/221910/

The walking dead is an excellent adventure/thriller/modern point and click. Haven't played season 2 but season 1 is worthwhile and cheaper.
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/261030/

Portal 2 is great, if you don't have it - though you should have picked up the Valve complete pack when it was discounted on the first day. Get the first portal game if you haven't played that either.
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/620/

Trine complete is just €3.22 for two great games. Trine 2 is very colourful as well as fun. Trine is good too and getting an update to bring it up to Trine 2 graphics & multiplayer.
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/35720

Fallout 3 GOTY isn't discounted much (usually €5 when fully discounted), but the base game is just €2.50. The base game is the best part in my opinion, but just be wary of the short main story line that brings it to an end (unless you have the broken steel add-on).
    http://store.steampowered.com/app/22300/

Saints Row 3 is a very fun game if you just want to play something that's not too serious. That's about the cheapest it's been on steam, but I've seen bigger discounts than that in other shops (i.e., humble store).

Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion
    The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

Spent more than i thought, i didnt even plan on picking up divinity but saw this quote and had to give it ago.

Fairly quiet one for me, just bought Far Cry 3 and Terraria. There were a few others things I did want, but honestly, just the amount of stuff that's built up from humble bundle/indie gala/bundlestars/etc is absolutely ridiculous, no hope of ever catching up.

Should I buy gmod even though I can't play it?Isnt 7 euro a bit much for cs go?

I'm sure I'll dust off the wheel some lazy Sunday afternoon and give it a whirl, I just don't have any motivation to do it because I can't imagine how it could be any good! :o The reviews though... I mean there must be something I'm missing.
thats the thing though, its impossible to describe why its enjoyable, closest example( and not a very good one lol ) i could give is starting up a game of Vice City just to drive around and listen to the music, its just relaxing and enjoyable in that way.
I usually listen to the local stations if im in Paris or Germany, makes it more authentic. I was playing it one night listening to some UK radio station and the DJ gave a shout out to all the Euro Sim truckers haha thought that was cool.

I play it with a G25, the wheel makes it more enjoyable and also play with an Oculus Rift( rez is low but its playable and immersive, good for reversing to pick up the trailer ), but i was enjoying it loads before i had the rift.

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

They only paid 15/20 dollars, and they've all had access since at least November, so I imagine they're happy enough.

the suckers that paid 90 quid when it went early access on steam cant be happy, then again, maybe they're in a constant state of bewildering happiness being able to afford that much for an alpha..

I'm now entering my traditional post-sale I-miss-the-craic-of-the-sale-thread malaise.

You guys will still talk to me, right? Right?!

    Not desperate or anything...

yea :( looking through the wish list and no green icons beside anything :( maybe I should have caved and gotten that measly 33% off!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

So do we make a new thread for "steam regret purchases" or we stick to this thread on that topic? :pac:

I am thinking now: " I dont really know if buying 12 days to die was a good idea."

Game is hard as ****, but fun and has so much potential, but I dont know where I can fit it in in my gaming time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,028 ✭✭✭Wossack

    maybe yea lol

pixel piracy could do with a few more months in the oven.. Im not taken to it at all

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,812 ✭✭✭Vojera

I would regret 9.03M if the proceeds weren't going to charity. I know it's an art "game" and all that, but seriously, it was ten minutes long.

They Breathe was also an odd one. Worth the 61 cent I paid, but it wasn't really what I was expecting.

I also got Montague's Mount because I wanted to see how the Irish language aspect of it was handled and ended up getting seasick from the first section of the game. I know the guy has a limp, but seriously!

Yeah, I have two. If you could at least give them away it wouldn't be so bad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 282 ✭✭Shabaz50

I spent about 40 euro and got...
    Borderlands 2 (with all dlc)
    Killing floor
    Metro 2033
    GTA SA
    Portal 1
    Portal 2
    The witcher 2
Can't stop laughing bundle (Castle crashers+Battle block theatre)
    Dishonoured
    Gmod
    Terraria
    Fallout 3
    And Faout NV.
I took the advice from the first post and I bought them all as gifts and does anyone know if the Cant stop laughing bundle was supposed to go for 2.29 even though BB Theatre was like 3.00 on its own ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,253 ✭✭✭Sonics2k

First Steam sale in 4 years I haven't spent money on!

Can't complain, the previous sales how've treated me extremely well and still have a few games left to finish after the Christmas sale.

To the new Steam folks, welcome to your new addiction.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Spent 25 quid or something like that.
Got Tomb Raider, Witchers 1 & 2, Tropico 4, AoE HD and Deus Ex.

    So that's pretty nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭Klair88

    I spent about €25. I bought:

Fallout 3 & New Vegas GOTY
    Skyrim Legendary Edition
    Half-Life 2
    Left 4 Dead 2
    Tropico 4
    Civ V: Brave New World.

Half-way through saving for a PC so that's why i didn't buy much and when i did, they were mostly games for the rig in the future!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭R0ot
