Woolshed on Parnell Street is usually good craic for football as lots of foreign fans head there,as is The Mercantile on Dame Street.

Woolshed would be my choice for football be prepared for crowds though if one of the big teams are playing. Round the corner from Woolshed is a newish place called D-One that has turned into a Brazillian place the last couple of months and they are running some good promotions so that will probably be a decent spot too.

I like the Porter House on Nassau Street as you can get decent pub grub.. and they have loads of booze choice

If the Champions League or FAI Cup Finals are to go by, you won't get into the Woolshed unless you're there 2 hours or so before KO.

The Living Room in Cathal Brugha Street, and its shared beer garden with Fibbers and McGrath's is an awesome spot for a bit of barstooling, especially when they build the terrace with the huge screen. Great mix of nationalities, and they do pitchers and quite a good selection of craft/eastern eurpean beers, plus the usual swill too.

No, but they do have other stouts like Wrasslers XXXX and Plain which are both superior to Guinness to my mind.

We went to the Woolshed on Fri night - it was packed to the rafters for Spain v Holland. No air con so quite uncomfortable, not enough floor staff on, queues to get drinks.

It cleared out then for the Australia v Chile match but they were playing crap music and wouldn't put on the punditry leading up to the match! We went home & watched it in peace so I wouldn't recommend it.

Watched England v Italy in the Portobello - big screen, smaller ones scattered around, not too packed and it had air con!
