    Warning from Fingal Co Co...

    Fingal County Council
NO SWIMMING AT LOUGHSHINNY BEACH - Friday 13th June

Routine water quality sampling took place on Fingal beaches on Monday 9th of June. The results for Loughshinny Beach showed levels of bacteria exceeded the maximum limit for bathing water quality. As a result we have posted a 72-hour Prohibition Notice (dated 12 June) on the noticeboard at the beach advising members of the public not to swim at this beach until full the water quality is restored.

A further water quality sample was taken at the beach yesterday Thursday 13th June and the results, once received, will determine whether or not the Prohibition Notice will be lifted.

If you have questions about water quality at Loughshinny Beach please email: environmental.health@fingal.ie.

There is no water quality issue at any other Fingal bathing beach.

If you are visiting a beach in Fingal this weekend please only swim between the flags when a lifeguard is on duty, be aware of other beach visitors and take your litter home with you if the bins at the beach are full.
