Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wouldn't have a problem with trading Young and Cleverley for McCarthy. The way I see it: neither of those two are going to get into the first eleven, where as McCarthy could. And we get two heavy earners off the books.
But we should only pursue McCarthy if our main targets fail. Personally I don't think he's even on the radar. Vidal, Strootman, DeJong, Carvalho, Turan are the types of player the club should be focused on - and I'm quite convinced they are.

Reports saying Adidas have won the kit deal fee £58m a season. That's almost twice Madrids deal.

So is that like £110m between Adidas and Chevrolet.?

Lovely. We might finally get a decent jersey while the club still makes a shedload of money

Well, it's been talked about for a number of months, that the figure with both deals would be in excess of £100m per year. One of my liverpool supporting colleagues was recently explaining why United are broke and finished as a top side (this was before the Gerrard slip), I then told him what those two deals were worth, and he went a funny shade of green. :D

It's looking like Evra might well be off to Juve on a two year deal. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We'd need back-up for Shaw!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

So the new jersey is only for one year, that is not going to do much for sales

True. For 6m he's a bargain. He's taken a lot of stick but under the right manager could, maybe should realise his potential.

The last 6 home kits have all only been for 1 season.

Are there any teams who don't change their kit every year now...?

I'd like to see Blind come in if Evra goes, really good option across a few positions.

I think changing to Adidas can only be good, I haven't really liked any of the Nike Jerseys apart from the white & red away shirt, I've always thought Chelsea's jerseys have been nice

Getting rid of Evra and say Cleverley would be good business if we got in Blind.

Great to hear Adidas coming on board as potential kit makers. They tend to make much nicer gear from shirts to track tops etc.

Another positive is that the deal is supposedly astronomical in terms of figures (rumoured 750m over 10 years) so that should give us a nice warchest (including the Chevrolet deal) for the next few seasons ahead of other sides who have recently signed their deals. Arsenal's deal is roughly 30m per year and Liverpool's 50m a year.

    Slow down lads.

While it has been confirmed Nike are gone, no confirmation that Adidas have made the deal official.

I'd buy a jersey just in case we get Warrior :)

Im only quoting what I'm reading. Dont shoot the messenger. :o

"Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria could be on his way to the Premier League after the Spanish giants accepted a £47.7m offer from Man Utd according to Spanish media outlet AS."

    According to that article.

EDIT: If this one turns out to be a hoax I will eat a sh*t sandwich of my own making tonight, as penance.
