In other news, its looking like Paddy is on his way

Heard he is going for €2m. If we are reluctant to sell ( which we should be considering we'd have no back up at LF) why don't we hold out for €5m?
Juve will give us the run around if we enquire about one of their players, we should do the same to them.

Delighted with the Evra news. I can forget the bad times and remember the good times now. Just like Giggs, Rio, and Vidic. Hate seeing players become shadows of themselves.

Please please please sign a few stars now and start selling the deadwood Louis.

She's saying "Hey brinty I ****ing love you so much and you might not be able to hear me but at least you can look at me talking." Then she laughs and says "No seriously call me".

I stopped looking at that J-Law gif to do this for you.

You sir are a legend ;)

This was supposedly Kate's reaction to Herrera and Shaw's signing.

I'll ask her for a reaction when we get more lads in.

Because he has been a good servant to the club, we should really grant him a free transfer to make the move he wants as easy as possible and allow him to pick up a payday as somewhat of a loyalty bonus...

Even if he was quite sh!t last season.

ESPN reporting that gala have leaked the fact Snedijer has a 20m release clause and that he would, like to play under LVG.

Doesn't RVP have a serious dislike of him though? Unlikely that LVG will want to upset RVP given the relationship they have. Save the money for Depay I'd say.

Fascinating match, with the worst referee in the history of football. Hopefully he doesn't decide who wins.

I don't think it's coincidental that the last few years in a period where our midfield was been woeful... that one of the constants in that midfield was Carrick.

Agree. Name a big game last season in which we actually won the midfield battle? I can't, because when he is in it we simply don't win midfield, he's the model of the phrase 'passenger'

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,349 ✭✭✭Quandary

I'm not a huge fan of Carrick but he is the last one of our current midfielders we need to get rid of.

Cleverley, Anderson and Fletcher should all be shipped out before him.

Feck it, ship them all out in the one go. I'd be sad to see fletcher go all the same though

I'd keep Fletcher. I think he'd be most likely to accept a bit part role considering the fact he's lucky to be playing.

Look at Messi tonight having such a poor midfield he is dropping so deep taking him out of where he is most dangerous and he has been poor.

Reminds me of the way Rooney, Kagawa and Mata have suffered from a poor midfielder. Hopefully we get in somebody else besides Hererra.

Vlaar has been excellent so far tonight and has been impressive overall.

ITV commentator said Villa were trying to tie him down to a new contract. Couldn't make out if he said his contract had a year left or years left. If Vermaelen is being considered as an option as is being reported, how would you rate Vlaar in comparison.

Hes been alright but he's not a good player imo. De Vrij is a better option i reckon.

He has been better than alright he has been the Dutch's best player of the tournament imo.

He has, and is. Just not as fashionable as De Virj...

Has Van Gaal gone onto the touchline once in this tournament? Such a polar opposite considering he isn't sinking into his seat and disappearing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,631 ✭✭✭✭Hank Scorpio

Highly, hes been excellent all tournament. Good on the ball too @ Vlaar

He has been outstanding! He has been good for Villa but never this good. Players playing for their country at a world cup just up their game to a different level. One of the reasons you don't sign a player based on a world cup alone!

suppose at least we get our new gaffer early! hard luck, to be fair neither team looked to really go and want to win the game so if they rely on the lotto that is pens then it's hard to have sympathy when they go out

Netherlands must play third place play-off the night before the final so not much saving there.
