Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Finds post by Agueroooo saying bid rejected.

Agueroooo thinks the clause info is fake so we are screwed.

Thread has mini madness spasm for a few hours.

Suarez banned for FOUR MONTHS :pac:

News breaks that Bilbao have said Herrera has paid his release clause.

Your absence may or may not be directly related to Herrera signing.

Go get banned again and we might get a LB.

    Official announcement on clubs site
    Ander Herrera signs for United

Manchester United is delighted to announce that, after triggering the buy-out clause in his contract on Tuesday, it has signed Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera from Athletic Club in Bilbao, pending the receipt of the International Transfer Certificate. He joins on a four-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year.
Ander, 24, from Bilbao, joined Athletic Club from Real Zaragoza in 2011 and has since made 128 appearances, scoring 11 goals. He has been capped by Spain at Under-20, Under-21 and Under-23 level.

Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs said: "Ander is a fantastic young player, with great energy and creativity. We believe him to be one of the brightest young prospects in Spain and I am certain he will be a big hit with the United fans. I’m delighted he has made the decision to come to Manchester and play his part in the club’s future. I’m looking forward to seeing him in action on our summer tour to America.”

Ander Herrera said: "Signing for Manchester United is a dream come true. I have played at Old Trafford for Athletic Club in the UEFA Europa League and it was one of the highlights of my career so far. I have joined United to do all I can to help the team reach the club's objectives. Having arrived on Tuesday, I’m excited to now be living in Manchester and I can’t wait for my first game in United’s famous red shirt. I will never forget my time with Athletic Club and I’d like to thank the fans and staff for all their support and, above all, wish all my fantastic former team-mates all the best for the future."

I'm looking forward to seeing a post from Mitch that contains a modicum of positivity. For me, that will be the best thing to come out of this transfer.

Anderson and Fellaini will obviously be stalwarts this season, but it's good to have backup that's not Tom Cleverley.

    Hi XXX,

Sorry about that. It’s an animated .gif image. Just got the news that United have signed a new player, and it’s just a bit of a play on being shocked by it.

I searched the image myself I wasn’t redirected there.

    Thanks,

    Hi Daniel,

I just got a flag on one of our systems for a link you accessed. The link is http://www.ripcitybadboys.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/mind-blown-2.gif .

Can you just confirm if your aware of this link, or if it was received via an e-mail etc?

I know it sounds a bit big brother, but we are just flagging certain file formats and links after the recent policy update. While we are running various security updates we are just being extra cautious.

    Thanks,
    XXX

Yep in all fairness, this signing has been handled almost to perfection - keeping the press out of the loop was a major achievement... hopefully this lad is one of many under the radar.

Lets hope we kick on now and put last summers embarrassment behind us....can we stay happy in here for a few days lads? First cranky fécker buys the first round at a meet up.

    Credit where it's due alright

Woodward and his team played a "blind"er here, came from absolutely nowhere.

Make me eager to know what else is in the works.

Yeah exactly, we were turning into a laughing stock the way everything was leaking out, think LVG has had a word on that! Roll on the new season, havent been as excited about one in years.

Odds on one of the following to get the hump with the number he receives, labelling it a sham/disgrace

    Mitch / Homerjay / adox / headshot

I'm just messing about, I'm way to giddy at the moment. But on a serious note I've submitted to the lads general view we made a meal of last summer, and I was a staunch defender of the club and Woodward

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,080 ✭✭✭✭Maximus Alexander

Odd that the quote on the club's press release was from Giggs as assistant manager, but they didn't get him in for the photos. Suppose he might be away on holidays or something. It's a bit weird seeing a new signing with just Sir Bobby to welcome him.

And we've a winner for the first complaint about his signing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Nice to see also that Sir Bobby is in the photos.

Woodward isn't hogging any limelight getting in all the photos. Many a chief exec would be loving to have their mug splashed on the papers after landing a big deal.

that's something I've somewhat liked about him, in terms of that sort of thing, he's been relatively behind the scenes. With the exception of Mata, which was a big deal in fairness, and the only signing.

Let's hope its a sign he is hard at work...not in England :D
