Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    ..................DDG..............
    Raf...Smalling...Evans...Shaw
    ..........Ander......Carrick.......
    Mata.........Rooney........Januzaj
    ...................RVP...................

We have some of the same problems we had last season, little to no pace, Mata shunted out on the wing, and Rooney tasked at creating chances for others

Personally, I reckon we are going to go 433, with the creativity coming more centrally than previously, and width mostly from the full backs.

    De Gea
    Rafael-Smalling-Jones-Shaw
    ---Herrera
    NewDM
    Mata
    --Januzaj--RVP--Rooney

RVP will lead the line and Rooney/Januzaj given freedom to roam a good bit. I don't think it will suit Rooney 100% but it won't be the left wing defensive role he stuggles badly in - the midfield 3 will be tasked with more protection than the midfield 2 from your formation.

Based on the Dutch set-up at the World Cup:

    De Gea
    Jones-Smalling-Evans
    Rafael
    Shaw
    Carrick-Herrera
    Mata
    Rooney-Van Persie

That is without any signings after Shaw. Valencia and Evra to swap in at RWB/LWB, Shinji to swap in for Mata, Welbeck to swap in up front.

    2-4 more signings expected.

I swear to god DeGea is worth his weight in gold on and off the pitch - serious man love for Dave :)

Woodward gets these two deals sorted plus Mata, new contracts for both Nani and Rooney, looks like hes learnt from last summer if that was even his fault!

Just think... it looks very very likely that we'll have two of the most exciting teenagers linking up down our left side for the foreseeable future...... and a ball playing center midfielder....... under a competent, attack minded manager.

Blind might be one to come in as a stop-gap until we see where Strootman is. Great squad player to have.
Or as someone on red cafe said martins Indo so we can say we have

    Indi Ander Jones

    I'll get my coat...

Memphis Depay would be good to get, 20 years old. His game time at the World Cup is a goal or assist every 25 minutes...

We need a top quality ball winner now. Vidal would be ideal but I reckon he will end up at in Spain. Would love to see Schweinstieger as he has the energy and drive to get up and down the pitch and do the dirty work.

I don't think I've heard of Van Gaal going with two players who aren't out and out wingers in the wide positions of a 433, he had Muller at Bayern and played Rivaldo out there for Barca I think but not two

One of Rooney or Januzaj would be taken out, but I don't think Rooney would last long played out there anyway. Welbeck would probably fit the system better than Rooney

if we are waiting til January (or next summer) for Strootman, then I could see a move for De Jong making a lot of sense.
