My cat won't stop fighting

We have two female, spayed cats. They're indoors at night and outdoors most of the rest of the time. A whole back one of them, Lori, showed up with nasty cut where she'd lost a lot of fur abover her left eye. We cleaned it but overthe next week it became clear that to was infected so we went to the vet and got it sorted. We kept her indoors for a few weeks with a cone on and eveything cleared up nicely. As soon as we let her out she came back with an identical cut over the other eye! it looks like it's on its way to being infected as well.

Anybody have experience with this kind of thing? She was fine for years, never getting in fights as far as we knew. Converting her to being an indoor only cat would be very tricky as the other cat is in and out the whole time.

Maybe there is a newcomer in the area, it could be anything, possibly an intact female that has disrupted the pecking order that has been established by the cats in your area.
The cats may sort things out between themselves by maybe taking turns being in certain areas at certain times, effectively avoiding one another. If you knew it was a particular cat that was fighting with your cat and could speak to the owners you could perhaps arrange between you to let your cats out at different times.
