Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Sanchez!

    1-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,029 ✭✭✭Rhys Essien

That was an easy 4/1 for Sanchez to score first.

How many mistakes did the OZ players make there?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Sanchez does have a great knack of popping up with big goals. He's coming off his best season at Barcelona and surely has done enough to stay at the club.

Surprised at Medel playing at CB! He's only 5'7.. Must be the smallest CB in the tournament :pac:

    Better CB than DM, IMO.

    Terrific start for Chile.

The Aussie defending is even worse than the Spanish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

You'd have to think that this Chilean side will trouble Spain with their high tempo, attack minded game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

"Jedinak was like a milk truck trying to get around" - Brian Kerr.

  • Cannot underestimate this. Spain have to be nervous.

I should have upped my 3-0 scorecast

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

The Dutch are going to massacre Australia at this rate. They properly hammered some teams in qualifying (8-1 v Hungary etc.)

    Brilliant.

Chile can coast it now for the rest of the game and grab another few goals. Australia are no real threat.

Spain Chile is going to be epic. Australia will surely lose all 3 games.

Theres nothing that can cheer me up better than hearing Kerr attempting to pronounce Jedinak at 11pm.

    Unlucky :(

    There will be more though.

Tahiti defended better last year at the Confederations Cup than this Aussie team.

No.1 AND No.2! No.1 was a bit all over the place but No.2 was a real beauty.

As the night wears on and Kerr continues to battle the humidity there's no telling what Jedinak's name will become.

Thank goodness for the goal line technology. I'd never have known otherwise.

Yeah, every time they've shown the use of the technology it's been useless. It's basically "OH LOOK WE HAVE IT NOW!"

Wish he'd stop calling him Alexey Sanchez. Even Kerr can get it right...

Referee left his cards at home. That was a late challenge by Jedinak.

Feel sorry for Australia, they're working hard and not playing that bad, but the Chilean movement and passing is just way too much for them.

Yes but i love the freekick spray paint.

Any just notice sanchez got kicked there in the peno box but didnt fall to the ground, amazing! Might actually just be a sign of disdain for oz.

Valdivia and Sanchez have been superb so far. Vargas has been a bit quiet.

    Chile looking good.

Spain not getting out of the group is now a realistic possibility.

No one expected that before today!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Quick transitions, pace on the flanks, really aggressive pressing, brilliant movement off the ball. The Chile side are greater than the sum of their individual parts.

    Kiss of death.
