Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oh the humanity. Back in my childless days might have sneaked it, but this in of itself is outrageous. It's nearly 1am for god sake! 1AM

My children will literally murder me in the morning :p

8:30 and 11:00 kickoffs, plenty of time for a 'kids go play with the traffic' nap before the football :P

Cahill has been on the end of nearly all of Australia's chances. If it's a draw he's the one that will more than likely score it.

Could easily be Bresciano or anyone else.

    Edit: He's been subbed :P

Bresciano got subbed about 2-3 mins ago. He had a couple of good chances alright.

Can still see a couple of goals in this.

    3-2 or 4-1 maybe, both 14/1.

    Nothing wrong with that challenge.

I'd say it will stay 2-1. Lack of final product in the second half.

Game has fizzled out a bit

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

The ref hasn't given Australia anything but blows up for any slight contact if it's against a Chile player.

My telly has automatically powered off for the third time today. Does this every 3 hours if inactive.

This is the magic of the World Cup.

Ah, I dunno. Chile have no conviction in front of goal.

    Good goal by Beausejour.
Good advantage played by the ref. On this performance he'll be doing the World Cup Final.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,813 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

    Australia were finished anyway

  • That's 15 goals already. Nice

They came into the game too late really. Unlucky at times but ultimately didn't do enough.

First game where the refereeing was good. He even did well to get out of the way for Chiles third goal.

Ahh well. Good performance from Australia. Equaliser was there.

Confident the Chile supporting hipsters will be left disappointed. Not getting out of the group.

In the overall scheme of things Chile didn't deserve to win 3-1. Austrailia put up a great fight in the second half. For a South American team I though Chile's play seemed to deteriorate due to fatigue which was poor seeing as they should have an advantage in that regard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Chille didn't play great but still scored 3 and had one cleared off the line.

Chile-Spain will be a great game I think. I'm not sure Chile's lack of height at the back will be that big of a factor in open play against Spain, possibly at corners alright though.

Also a more fully fit Vidal will add hugely to that team as well, he clearly wasn't fit from the first few minutes. Hopefully a few days will do him good.

Decent game I have to say. Australia worked hard and had a few useful players, but about half that team barely looked professional. By the end, there was just nothing left in the tank. I fear Spain and Holland won't be so kind.

You'd have to be pretty concerned about Chile's performance. At times, they looked brilliant going forward, but when under pressure they did not convince at all.

For once, I actually enjoyed the commentary. Think Joe Speight is very good, doesn't feel the need to over egg things and mostly sticks to the game.

All they need is a draw against Spain and they are through. They could get that. I don't think they will, but they could and its all they need now.

It's actually quite a hipster thing to call other supporters 'hipsters' for liking another team.

My first bit of luck.Chile to win 3-1 @ 12/1.
