Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Great. :)

Why do teams like Greece get support while teams like Crystal Palace etc get stick?

I am consistent in the `style of football I support. Palace under Pulis have been brilliant imo.

The people supporting Greece aren't the same people who give Crystal Palace stick.

Agreed, but I wonder how long it will be until Palace fans become fed up with mid-table finishes?

I agree. :) I like Palace but don't like Greece. I like to see good football, but I don't mind teams playing to their strengths.

Any chance of that officially going down as an OG? It looked close to being on or off target. Hard to tell for definite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

It was on target. The deflection didn't actually deviate the ball any.....just slowed it down a little.

I'd say the celebration will tip it in the Colombians favour :D

Yepes' World Cup story is brilliant. Chuffed for him.

Bravery of a Lion by Yepes. Absolutely brilliant. Built like a gladiator.

Ya figured it probably would alright. Hopefully FIFA officials see sense and change it retrospectively :P

I happen to be a Real fan going back a long time, sorry. I am a Liverpool fan too, they don't exactly play my ball under Rodgers but I'm all in for supporting them obv.

Columbia showing no urgency. Game fully killed off since the goal and being played at walking pace now.

POWERFUL defending by the greeks as the columbian went on a charging run making inroads towards the six. Greece will find it tough to stick with the yellowmen if this keeps up.

Away game for Greece. No better team for the job. :)

We may have found common ground at last...big fan of gnarly nobbly Greece. Loved their draw against Poland in Euro 2012. They looked to be out of their depth early on, but by the end had Poland on the rocks, probably should've won it.

    Salpingidis is a great player.

Greece are so boring. The commentator was trying to make out that attacking was their strong point, not at all. I'm struggling to see what the game plan is.

Samaras is some man for drawing fouls. Been doing it for Greece for years. Brilliant at maintaining possession in ungainly fashion.

Colombia need to pick up the pace here, they're playing into Greeces hands with a slow pace.

That was some performance alright. They're that sort of team. They just keep plugging away.

Some hotties in the Colombia crowd just now. About time.

Tell ya lads, Greece gradually grinding their way into this.

Watching it on BBC, is James Rodriguez really pronounced "ham-ez"?

Greece beginning to control the happenings in the centre of the pitch. Worrying times for columbians fans. The aerial threat of Greece is something that they should aim to take advantage of.

    Wasteful by Gutierrez

I'm watching it on RTE since the tenth minute and it's all Greece. If Greece were sitting as deep and playing breakaway football as Columbia are, they'd be going on about being boring.

Commentators very patronising about Greece getting into the game.

Colombia have sat back on their leaky defence since the goal but Greece have created nothing. No intensity or penetration to their play. Colombia are playing a dangerous game though.

Great save from Ospina. Greece looking far more likely since the goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Great fighting by Greece all over the pitch. Digging out chances

Greece could probably do without half time. They are really piling on the pressure at the moment.

Not often that the player who dives turns around and says it's not a penalty though!
