Yeh think I could get Parcel Motel to ship me the 20 cans for a tenner from Morrisons :D

    They don't allow alcohol unfortunately.

On topic, interesting offer for those who got it, I wobder how this'll work out!

"Weighs under 300 grams" - that rules out the 2012 model!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 5,402 ✭✭✭Tinie

Live chat on the Sun website stated that only one tablet per address, even if two different people applied only one will get the tablet.

Wonder will parcel motel be counted as one address for everyone, and be a lucky dip as to who gets the tablet.

I've had a couple of emails from the sun, (including my first 'delivery' of the paper) but no mention of the tablet.

Reassure me guys. I'm not the only one, right?

They said in live chat that the only email you will get about the tablet is if its dispatched to you. Nothing before that.

Grand so, if it all works out (and with me using a Northern address, I can't see why it wont) getting a nexus7 for +/- €100 is a pretty good bargain.

    Fair play op.

Did anyone use an Irish credit card but Northern Ireland delivery address?

Did anyone ask in live chat if this is OK?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,380 ✭✭✭✭Banjo String

    Quick question guys.

What's the difference in the tablet on offer here, and this one from Argos?

Use paypal. Dont think they have any way of checking that then if you sue the same billing address on paypal as the delivery address.

That is the inferior spec 2012 model. The 2013 model being offered by the Sun with this offer is much faster spec wise and has a MUCH better display.

I already ordered using Irish credit card but with delivery to an address of a friend in Belfast

HaHaven't had a chance to get in to live chat yet, will when near a pic later.

I'm assuming once it's delivered to UK address it shouldn't be a problem

I'm hoping it will be grand too, I mean how many Irish workers would be based in the UK? I think we should be home and dry.

My first tablet, it will make my note3 redundant in the evenings now.

The one you linked to is the old model albeit with 3G. The "Sun" one is supposed to be the "new" 2013 model without 3G

has anyone confirmed if they plan on using your address for any 'promotional' materials i.e. junk mail. Cause if they do and you use parcel motel, you could end up with some expensive junk mail

Had crossed my mind, just update your address as soon as you get the Nexus.
    That's my plan anyway.

Just received a confirmation email from the sun about the nexus 7.
    Thanks for joining Sun+.

You will receive your Google Nexus 7 within the next 14 to 21 days. We will post it to the address you entered when you signed up to Sun+.

Before it is despatched by courier you will receive an email providing you with a delivery date and one hour time slot. If this date isn’t convenient you will have the option to change it. Don’t forget someone will need to be available on that date to sign for delivery.

If you have any questions, please use our Live Chat service to speak with one of Online Advisers.

    Best wishes,

I actually emailed them the other day asking about the Nexus to make sure I was getting it. Got the confirmation email and a reply to my email today both confirming that I'll get the Nexus. Very happy with that. It's gonna be a long 14 days though.

Even longer for me. I'm out of the country for 2 weeks in 13 days.

I'll have to prise it from my own fathers hands first, as I had to use his address in the north!

Can see them cancelling your order now. They said in live chat to me that they will only deliver to residential addresses.
Serves your right for trying to get one over us fellow bargain alert users who also used parcel motel!:D

LOL! As if they would "prioritize" your order because you asked them to. If anything, you just fecked it up for everyone here by letting them know that parcel motel, and more importantly, that the postcode associated with parcel motel, is a courier service and that they might not deliver to there now as some websites frown upon delivering to couriers or "forwarding" services.

    Clap clap! Well done!!

In reality though, it will be first come first serve if they happen to by some weird instance, only deliver one to parcel motel, and that the first person to have ordered will get it since it will be delivered the day after the cooling off period elapses. Which is 14 days from sign up. Id imagine that was the OP who posted this.

"Hello, look at me. I'm using a third party provider to claim your free gift, a gift that I am simply not entitled to."

"...it's not just me though. There are loads of us."

    You are joking right?

There's a 99% chance now that your order will be cancelled as first reason is that your using a courier to get it delivered, not an actual residential address and secondly you just let told them that you don't live in the UK by telling them what parcel motel is, which is also against the terms and conditions.
It will be a damn shame if everyone's order gets cancelled because of your stupidity and greed.

So you emailed them to tell them you are getting it delivered to a courier who will then post it down to ROI? A move which is against their terms of service, and you've just told them that is what parcel motel is, meaning you may have messed it up for everybody here?

    Wow!

Im thinking the risk far outways the good for me here, yes 90 euro for a new 2013 tablet is awesome but losing 90euro coz one user is just greedy sneaky. Not good for me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 749 ✭✭✭eamondunphy

I luckily enough was able to use a friends address in Belfast but I'd be fuming if I'd used parcel motel and everything got messed up all because snowc had a brain fart and wanted to make sure he got his at the expense of everyone else

Hopefully everyone still gets theirs, but would be a nice bonus to hear a certain boards member didn't get theirs in the end

It worked out at 110 for me... but I've cancelled today, just in time because after 7 days, you can cancel but will be charged a months subscription.

14 days is the time frame that you are allowed to cancel and get a refund actually.

    I wont be cancelling anyway.
