Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Uruguay actually don't seem to give a toss here

Is it just me or is this world cup deadly so far?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

Can't believe this. No more betting this world cup.

Think it was a work permit issue. Costa Rica were outside the top 75(?) of Fifa rankings when he signed.

He was eligible last season but not before that. Think that was his 3rd season on loan since signing.

    Delighted they've gone ahead.

Suarez not fit - would have been brought on if he was.

Uruguay's no. 16 and 17 remind me of the twins in Breaking Bad.

Agreed, had a lovely accumulator destroyed in 5 mins

Going well for me so far. C'mon Costa Rica.

Saw them against Japan and Ireland, knew they had some goals in them if everything clicked. Hopefully they can hang on.

Didn't have the balls to take 33/1 when they were losing though.

That is a mental bet. You need help.

    Fair play Oat23.

Campbell's left foot is something else. When you see him line it up you just know it's going toward the far corner.

No idea. Not to play a meaningful part anyway as is becoming clear.

Why not. You don't leave people out of squads in world cups. You have the 11 starters and then the rest are on the bench.

The whole squad is available. Its not an 18 man selection.

All squad players are named on the bench unless they are suspended

Can you hedge it somehow, couple of quid on a draw and Uruguay win?

Fair enough, but if he's not fit he should be just left out and not be in gear and doing warm ups etc.

Unless the coach is trying to keep opposition manager guessing.

    Hedging is for noobs :pac:

When I am betting profit I don't care. This bet is 30% of what I profited on the Colombians earlier so I'm not bothered if it doesn't win in the end.

Equaliser incoming. Costa Rica need Campbell to come up with something special on the break.

Cavani has been real poor tonight.

    Suarez stays on the bench.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

    Suarez won't be coming on.
Costa Rica will nick a third the way this is going.

Campbell is absolutely fantastic. Performance against Utd in the CL not a fluke.

Thats Uruguay out of the world cup already - poor luis

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Suarez was never going to be risked. He's there to soak up the atmosphere and be part of the group at this stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,295 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Can't see why anyone is surprised by this Uruguay where awful for 2nd half of qualification if they had not had a good start would not have made they play off spot

Uruguay need bigger jerseys or smaller nipples. It's disturbing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Thing is, Uruguay didn't breeze through qualifying. They didn't look great in the Confederations Cup. Players who had brilliant tournaments four years ago such as Lugano and Forlan are over. AND Suarez is injured.

Too much faith placed in them.

I expected it - couldnt win a game for love nor money with them in fifa14

    but they will score...

Yeah Uruguay peaked for the Copa America in 2011. Since then forlan and lugano have declined massively and the loss of Suarez has left the squad threadbare.

Didn't expect Costa Rica to be so competitive. They'll give England a fright if they play like this.

The jerseys are clearly hampering the Uruguay players' movement. No wonder they're losing.

    That's an awful tackle
