Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Amazing. Happy enough with my €500 profit as long as they hold on for the -1.

Costa Rican keeper has been decent..

Plays for Levante who had a tidy season in defence - only 4 clubs let in fewer goals.

Thing is, Uruguay didn't breeze through qualifying. They didn't look great in the Confederations Cup. Players who had brilliant tournaments four years ago such as Lugano and Forlan are over. AND Suarez is injured.

Too much faith placed in them.

They were ****e in the Olympics as well.

I'm not sure what happened after they won the Copa but they've been awful pretty much ever since.

If they had any sense they should go to win now, winners should go through as group winners and stay out of the Brazil side of the draw

I thought Costa Rica could be a wild card in this group.

This is totally unexpected though. Fair fuucks to them. Campbell has had a field day, incredible energy.

    Red card coming?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

Well done Costa Rica. A team of journeymen and they have completely out-played the world cup semi-finalists.

There are half a dozen players who Tabarez needed to start replacing, or phasing out, after the Copa.

He hasn't though. The Confed was a tournament too far for a lot of these guys.

Absolute filth by Maxi Pereira. Has to be red.
    Absolutely ****ing deserved.

Delighted for Costa Rica. Brilliant start to this World Cup.

    That was brilliant, brilliant!!

Costa Rica may yet struggle to get out of the group, but they pounced on a poor Uruguay side tonight. Despite their limitations they ran and fought for everything and were clinical with their chances when they got them. A positive and proud performance. Great stuff.

Fair play to Costa Rica, nice to see small nation doing well. Their day in the sun.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,656 ✭✭✭Western Pomise

Fair play to Costa Rica...had a lot of injuries coming into WC and were superb in second half tonight,England's defence will struggle against Campbell's pace.

I don't think it's a huge shock really, Costa Rica are a decent side and Uruguay were missing their best player.
