Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rooney put in a quality cross, but he's not covering back on the left wing at all. Should swap wings with Welbeck.

then you would have Baines and Welbeck on one side and Johnson and Rooney on the other.

Johnson and Rooney on the one wing would be chronic.

    This is terrific entertainment.

Pirlo has an almost mythical quality about him.

Ah the poor physio man. It's a bit like when Joey was killed off as Dr Drake Ramoray & the only person who could have saved him was himself.

So much for a cagey affair. Sterling is a class act.

A lot better than I expected it to be. Great World Cup so far.

What was Hart doing staying out when Balotelli chipped him? He should have been most of the way back to his line by then. Especially when another player came out and covered.

Hopefully Gerrard will come good, not a great first half. Rooney great cross but not much else, but what a cross. Whole team should be closing down on edge of box better

Fanastic invention from Balotelli there. Would have loved to see it go in, goal of the tournament so far if it goes in I would say.

The players look as if they have played 90. That is some though going out there.

Whistle came at the right time for England, good effort from Balotelli...his biggest contribution before that was complaining about crosses not coming straight to him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭Tigerandahalf

Very good game. Both teams look decent. Sterling is showing a touch of class.
I can see why Ferguson played Rooney in midfield, he has a lovely range of passing.
Take back what I said about Pirlo, like a fine wine, such a fine passer.

Great half of football , was expecting this game to be a let down .

Unlucky from Italy at the end there.

Another good game at this World Cup. Keep the goals coming.

Immobile to come of the bench and score the winner.

Lallana needs to come on instead of rooney, rooney is so bad its not even funny, henderson having a great game too

Rio ...."Danny Wellbeck opening his legs down the sides...making them uncomfortable".... fair play not weird at all.

Chelini isn't getting forward at all so there wouldn't as big a problem as there is on the left hand side.

If Hodgson takes off the 2 united players, Rooney & Wellbeck, and puts on 2 more Pool players, Lambert & Lallana then they will win

Best player on the pitch so far by a country mile is pirlo

Bit early, England have to get to the last eight before Dunphy wears that dress.

Very good game, open football,England struggling in middle but look dangerous whenever they get 40 yards from Ities goal.

So could it be classified as 'miss of the tournament' then?

Gerrard has hardly had a sniff and you want to take off a guy that created the goal

Great first half of football. Been impressed with England overall, but Sterling and Welbeck in particular.

They seem to be playing without that usual English fear and weight around their necks.

Got in late missed 1st 20mins , turned on BBC ...is that Phil Neville commentating ? Jez bring back Michael Owen , all is forgiven . Neville must have the most boring voice on TV ;)

  • it's not that surprising

Henderson needs to take charge, Hodgson is never going to drop him.

If Gerard tires out lalana on a sub along side Henderson England have a chance at winning this.

Again Welbecks start has been justified Italy can't handle him when he takes the ball down and runs at the RB

Rooney spending too much time covering the LB again waisted but still manged to produce brilliance with the cross.

Sturidge finding great position for the finish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,060 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

England playing well, but they are carrying Gerrard.

    Rooney doesn't want to defend.

    Lads.............

Why is Rooney wearing long sleeve under armor (Body warmer, whatever you want to call it) I know he's not the brightest but come on......

Seriously! Is he trying to melt or something?

Was thinking the same and I actually have sympathy for the united players having to listen to him all season.

It could be, but anybody who classified it as such could be classified as "without clue"

Was a good clearance, but it goes in and it is a fantastic goal after a lovely piece of invention.

I am expecting Henry to do a Zidane on Shearer before the World Cup ends. Shearer keeps interrupting him - even answering questions that Henry has been asked.
Henry seems to be getting p***ed off with it.
