Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Obviously we are out to see different things.

Obviously you're a united fan. If rooney still played for everton would you be defending his display?
He's been shíte, I reckon rooney himself would even agree.

Sterling looks wrecked some poor decision making in the last 10 minutes

Pirlo to score hat trick in extra time.

Rooney seems to have forgot how to play up front. He should be pulling on to the shoulder of Italys Cb so Barkley , Lallana & Sterling can play him in.

You have to first know something in order to forget it

For the amount of dead balls he takes Gerrard is fairly poor. 1/100 tends to be brilliant. The rest are sh1te. Rooney, Sterling, Wilshire and Johnson all sloppy

His indirect delivery is excellent and has been tonight.

Direct free kicks have pretty low conversion rates unless you're Juninho P.

Of course the conditions for the Italians are entirely different ;)

Yep, a well ground out win from Italy. England will rue missed chances.

He's taking the ball on and looking to create something.

    Italy just a class above.

Stuff like that takes the shine off Sterling's good performance imo.

TBH the kid must be knackered. I've been very impressed with him tonight he's been excellent for England. On the other hand Rooney bar the one cross has been a passenger.

Sterling unable to cross a ball with any danger

Pirlo still gliding around the pitch

Jesus Wilshere, stop trying to run through 6 players.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

Wilshere as impressive as Gerrard and Rooney... (Not blinkered)

Ooooohh! What a pass from Pirlo though

    How does Pirlo do it?

He will go down as one of the best CM to play the game

His name is wilshere george, not wiltshere.

I disagree. England have been the better team. One cross separates the teams. That's it.

Looks like Hodgson got his first 11 team selection spot on. Subs have disimproved their setup.

Sterling has been spent the last half an hour. He's been poor the second half. Rooney has offered nothing either. Wilshere has been terrible as usual

Unbelievably intelligent ball from Pirlo there.

They do tend to get slightly hotter summers in fairness.

Haha, Italians get a free kick near the English box and they'll probably pass it back to their own corner flag and dance around it.

He's been shíte, I reckon rooney himself would even agree.

Rooney is the most high profile player so is going to get more criticism. I like Danny Welbeck a whole lot more and have no problem saying Rooney was miles better than him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

    Rooney missed the best chance

He also laid on the goal putting the ball on a plate

Seriously, if anyone thinks Rooney has been Englands worst or most ineffective player out there they need their head examined

Then again, lots of people do get blinded, he was being lambasted for not tracking back on the left for the goal when he was actually playing on the right so....

Think Italy have just about shaded it. Got more about them on the ball.

Not all is lost for England though, most of the young players did well. They have enough to beat Uruguay and Costa Rica.

What a free kick that was.

all the England attackers want to be number 10s.

Hodgson not chucking Lambert on is utterly comical.

    Some swerve on that!

    Woof... Great effort by Pirlo.

    Hart nowhere near it.

    He messed up the subs

Sterling was gone after 60 and Henderson would run for 180 minutes.

What a hit from Pirlo! Hart was fcuked if that was a few inches lower.

    Pirlo is awesome

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,661 ✭✭✭Crimsonforce

Why is Wilshere in the squad?

Was thinking the same thing. He kind of waltzes around the pitch doing nothing..

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

Holy ****! Pirlo is magic. The curve on that.
