Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ronaldo really poor all game. Lazy and careless like the rest of his team.

To think we missed out on Zlatan and the Swedish ladies for this sorry lot.

How many free kicks has Ronaldo scored this season? I always find the posturing kind of funny when he misses and since I only see him in the CL I rarely if ever see him score them.

    Shut up!

Great save from Neuer, Ronaldo finally managing a free kick on target.

He's pretty bad at free kicks.

He just takes far more than anyone else.

Bentaleb vs Mikel in the middle bound to be a corker.

Ron gets a lot of hype over his FKs, he doesn't do a whole lot with them though. Usually skies them or hits the wall.

Was the same with both Beckham and Roberto Carlos. Both were capable of the spectacular, but I don't think their success rate was all that great. I seem to remember Irwin had a better success rate from free kicks at United then Beckham

Really enjoy listening to Didi Hamann. He makes a good team with Dunphy.

Pity he's a bit clueless tho (and I like the guy as a Liverpool fan). The minute he started criticising Germany before the game I knew they'd win!

Didi Hamann always just tries to be controversial for the sake of it, had to change over.

What does "Germany -1" mean in betting? (might as well get all these mysteries resolved at once)

Germany to win by more than one goal. -2 would be to win by more than 2 goals and so on.

Germany have to win by 2 clear goals to win your bet! They start a goal behind!

You win if Germany still win when you subtract 1 from their score.

Another way to view it.... Germany start the match down a goal and the bet comes through if they manage to overturn that "goal down" and win the game

5/1 for Germany to win it out. They would destroy Brazil. Great value.

That was a bit of a surprise.

Portugal were absolutely nowhere I felt, Germany had it incredibly easy.

When did Bentaleb renounce his Algerian citizenship and declare for Iran?

Is it that Portugal were nowhere or just that Germany are probably a league ahead of any other team at this world cup? You think any other team would have been 3-0 up against them at half time?
    Muller is now 6/1.

he was 29/1 to one before this game IIRC, the only reason I didnt put money on him to be top scorer, was because this group was more difficult than a few of the other contenders. Should have bloody known! I did say to my mate there will be nothing in it or there will be a German demolition job. Put E45 on them at 6.5 to 1 just before kick off. The bias factor towards Brazil and Argentina because it is in South America, is given too heavy a weighting IMO...

I don't get the Mueller hate at all. A lot of folks here who have obviously never played themselves at any kind of competitive level.

You go at pace into an arm or hand flying towards you its not just a brush. Its a fair ding and for a moment you're wondering are all your teeth still there. Mueller is absolutely not a diver but nothing but a class act. And anyway all would have been fine only for Pepe being Pepe. Can't blame Mueller for that he didn't do anything unduly as a reaction to that hinted head butt. The ref was looking right at it.
    Its just Pepe being Pepe.

So now thats that dealt with I gotta say I feel sorry for Portugal. They had an absolute nightmare. Almeida out, Coentrao out, Pepe out, 4:0 lost and obviously Ronaldo is not just not 110% but more like 60%. It couldn't have been any worse them and I'd say thats their World Cup probably over. :(

Oh ye and I do have Mueller as top goal scorer, was incredible value considering he won it 4 years ago. Here's hoping anyway.

    Are you for real?

    Are you for real?

    Yes I absolutely am.

What makes you question that anyway. Ever been on the receiving end of such a thing yourself? Well I have and not just once.
It depends on the situation, it can be a brush but it can be also a right walloping.
This is a different world to your five-a-side.

Put it to you another way. If a lad smacked you in the face on a night out would you go down clutching your face? I doubt it. The lads that hit the deck are 9 times out of ten over reacting in the hopes of getting a free kick or having their opponent punished more severely.

Because he barely brushed him, if that's enough to put him down holding his face, I really don't know how he gets through life at all.
He totally made a meal of it, I don't know how anyone can defend it.
