    Hello all,

I'd like you all to meet Amy from the NDRC. She's here today and tomorrow to talk about the NDRC's Launchpad and Female Founders programmes. If you're not familiar with them, here are some details.

    NDRC LaunchPad

NDRC LaunchPad is Ireland’s first and leading digital accelerator, specifically designed to enable entrepreneurial teams to transform solid ideas into commercially viable startups.

The emphasis is on intensive mentoring and the high-touch approach that defines the NDRC method. Over an intensive 12-week period, participants receive micro-seed investment and support with every aspect of their business as well as a fast track to attracting follow-on investment. This model has set the bar for all other accelerator programmes throughout Europe.

NDRC LaunchPad provides emerging startup promoters with:
    • Unparallelled expertise across relevant disciplines with hands-on mentoring to guide development
    • 12 weeks working alongside a broad spectrum of start-ups, innovators and investors
    • Weekly workshops and networking with acknowledged thought leaders
    • Micro-seed investment of up to €20k per venture
    • The opportunity to pitch to investors at the end of year Lift Off event
If you're interested, you can Apply Here.

    Female Founders at NDRC

Our goal for Female Founders at NDRC is to uncover the potential that we know already exists.

Providing you with the tools to figure out if your tech-based startup idea has the potential to be something big, this part time programme will run for 5 weeks starting 20th July and consisting of a one day workshop every week. We’ll also be throwing open our doors to the teams to use the space throughout the weeks.

As well as giving you access a defined process and the best mentors in town, we will also introduce you to the people who can become part of your team. And we’ve timed Female Founders to get you ready to apply for investment through NDRC’s accelerator programmes.

If you’re a woman who knows her industry inside out with deep domain knowledge about the problem you want to fix, or if you’re building the future in your lap or on your laptop, Apply Here using the first form.

Outside of these two programmes, if you are a man or a woman with specialist skills that will help get a new venture off the ground and want the chance to work with a startup team, Apply Here.

Hello Amy, would love to get involved with launchpad :)
Actually, maybe venture labs would be better???

    Hi Deegs,

NDRC LaunchPad is for people who are developing a startup with a digital focus. NDRC VentureLab is more geared for companies that are developing and licensing technologies based on scientific developments in the research base.

I'm happy to answer any particular questions you have about the programmes here, but rather than get into the specifics of your startup here, where you might not want to share details, you're very welcome to come into NDRC and discuss your idea further so that we can help you figure out what route might be useful.

    All the best
    Amy

    Hi Amy,

Just wondering what we need to give in return for the funding and support - does the NDRC take a share in equity of the company, is there a commitment to delivery etc.

    thanks

    Hi Sharktopus,

Of the two programmes that we're currently recruiting for:
NDRC LaunchPad runs along similar lines to other tech startup accelerator programmes, where we provide up to €20k into the company for a small equity stake. Even though we work with companies at a very early stage, we carry out a valuation of the company. Typically equity stakes range from 6-10%, and our stake is diluted once other the value of the company increases.

Female Founders at NDRC is a free part time 5 week programme for very early stage ideas/concepts. Because of this very early focus there is no investment into the founders taking part and therefore no equity stake on the part of NDRC.

    Hope that's helpful,
    Amy

I'd like to add that we have a Launchpad Alumni company called bitSmith Games taking questions over on our Games Development forum.
