Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Everton legend Dixie Dean
Dean initially played for his local club, Tranmere Rovers, before moving to Everton. Whilst at Tranmere, he was on the receiving end of a tough challenge which resulted in him losing a testicle in a reserve game against Altrincham.[7][8] Immediately following the challenge, a teammate rubbed the area to ease the pain. Dean shouted "Don't rub 'em, count 'em!"

    Stuart Pearce
    Ron 'Chopper' Harris
    Esteban Cambiasso

I was going to put in Edmundo but he was just an utter headbanger and Sinisa Mijailovic but he was just a c**t.

    Juanito

For crying out loud it's been pages of names so far that Juanito would have eaten for breakfast.

Tough as nails on the pitch, google his stamp on Lother Mattheus' head that got him banned for 5 years, link from my phone below so not sure if that works.

Anyone mention Paolo Montero? Had a shocking record in Serie A for cards, worse than Ramos in La Liga I'm sure, for a comparisson, but that didnt tell the whole story as he was a gifted player, great defender, he was well able to throw it about when needed too.

don't think you could consider many of todays players - the way football has gone sort of soft since the early 90's - keane, mcgrath, moran , mick mcCarthy i'd want in my side if things got nasty - no one ****ed with that Irish team of the early 90s - most of that Wimbledon team from that same era were pretty tough too

16 reds in Serie A alone. A record.

I can't believe Sergio Ballesteros hasn't gotten a mention yet.

Francis Benali had just the right blend of moustache and sociopathy to make him a shoe in in this team.

Here's a typical early 90's Benali challenge on a wannabe hardman John Fashanu.

Pietro Vierchowod. As fast and skilled as he was hard.

Eric Cantona without a shadow of a doubt.
This is a man who told Neil Ruddock to wait in the tunnel after the match so they could sort things out and Ruddock legged it to the dressing room as fast as he could.

Also the man who ran headfirst into a mob of abusive Liverpool fans, fists swinging, without bothering to wait for anyone to back him up. You should read his biography by Philippe Auclair. It's like reading about Jason Bourne.

    De Jong - handy kickboxer

Lizarazu - European Ji Jitsu champion

Screw you're Vinnie Jones 'oh I'm a hard nutta'

If it was a fight between footballers, these two would be in the final.
