    +1!!

That's a great set of pics but one serious question - why are the E21s included in an E30 event?
Not complaining or anything, just curious.

Were there ever 2 generations of a BMW series closer related than the E21 and the E30? I don't think so. Excluding of course the most recent generations of 5 and 7 series diesel borefests :D

We don't discriminate against other generations :p

We had a few other BMW's on Saturday other than the E30, e36, e34, e39, e21, etc mostly friends or people who have an E30 that couldn't make it. We've never turned away any bmw.

On Sunday at Kilkenny the organisers directed all/most BMW's towards the area we reserved so we had a bit of a mix on both days.

Sounds like a good day out, very inclusive.
I must look out for the next one.

    couple of recent spots:

The MB was on Nassau St.
The Morris & Capri were in Kilkenny - the Capri was in use as a wedding car, it comes up as a 1.6 GT4.
The Jag was in Greystones (bit of a shonky pic) as was the Rover, though the reg isn't coming up for that one, so I don't know what year it is - when were these made, early/mid 60s I'm guessing?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,428 ✭✭✭tc20

..another pic of the Rover, and sure i might as well throw in a Porker - its a regular enough driver around Greystones/Bray

That Rover is a "ducktail", and fantastic spot. The plate is 1954 but curiously doesn't show up on any sites

cheers Duke, it was in pretty good nick for a 60+ y/o car, very little, if any obvious surface rust. Lovely red leather interior. Odd that the reg doesn't show up, I did try on the usual sites, I'm guessing its an Irish reg..

Yes, RI is a Dublin reg. It was probably off the road (not being taxed) around '93, when the system was migrated to a computer-based system at Shannon. Anything not being taxed was assumed to be scrapped and wasn't migrated, but they can be added today if "rediscovered".
