I think I've a few pics of that car from last year. If it's the same one, the owner is fairly well known.

    Edit: Sorry. Different car

both spotted in Bray - the Sierra just pulled in to the recycling centre today at lunchtime as I was getting rid of some bottles - I had to have a closer look!
3 door, 1985, it had a window sticker on the rear window with "Classic Deaf Club" (I think

Nice car, but would never buy a soft top, friend had a m3evo convertible was a disaster

They have a cabriolet set up, lift off hard top with folding rear section. Not really a problem if you have a garage. Mind you we don't get the weather.

Still here with more pics https://www.donedeal.ie/vintagecars-for-sale/bmw-320-convertible/17265514

Well spotted. To my mind €2750 seems like an awful lot of money for a baur needing some resto work though! Maybe I’m out of touch

Looks like a baur, still retains the saloon side windows and frame but with a soft top in place of the roof

Yes it is a Baur, they are quite rare.
About 4,500 were built and around half of that number are believed to survive.

    Lovely cars.
What's it like as an experience?

Well worth the admission, the first exhibit is a factory sanctioned replica of the 125s. I didn't take the pics because my phone died but got them off my friend. Not a huge amount of cars there but what was there were exceptional.

I have had e30 cabriolets for 16 years and the roofs were 100% reliable. Newer models even more so.

I didn't say they were unreliable

    I know what you mean.
We just don't get the weather here for a convertible but the motoring experience in one is completely different.
It's a pity however to go through a lifetime of driving without having at least one soft top.
I'd say to anyone if you have a garage give it a go.
