It's an Alan Day badge - Merc main dealer in Finchley, North London (I've seen this car close up). I used to pass the dealership whenever I went into London, when I lived in Hertfordshire in the 90's, and I used to drool at the new W124's (from my Mk1 Golf), but was disgusted with the new W201's when they appeared.

Ah I was waiting anxiously to hear a fabulous story about someone driving this car to europe from Jordan back in the day :o

    Nice to know anyways though

    Strangely, its NCT'd!

spotted both of these beauties in Enniskerry over the weekend.
The MB is from my favourite era of theirs, definitely on my lotto list!

If Kevin Herron still frequents here, he might know of this Aston (I doubt it's the original colour, but still a striking motor in the flesh, if not necessarily one of their better models imho)

Excellent finds! Love the plate on the Aston

Think the Aston is owned by a chap who works in AA (car related not the alcohol side of things)

Its a beaut, seen it a few times about

Oooh, yes, they are nice on Mercs. :)

I bought them still in their boxes. Original from 1981. Put 4 pirellis on them before I realised that they wouldn't fit the W124, hub too small. Had to have them bored just a tad to fit. They are an absolute bugger to clean!

Looks good from the limited pictures but mention of bodywork done and probably no NCT suggests he's dreaming at 5.5K.

Generally an NCT is worth mentioning if it exists!

If it's not mentioned it generally doesn't. :pac:

Seen that big merc around the north side a couple of times. Sounds fantastic when he revs it!

Ah lads, reminds me of going Into Cavan Car Auctions one night about ten years ago.
There was a big old Mercedes Coupe V8 from that era, a metallic salmon colour and sporting Swiss plates.
I hadn't the price of a Micra at the time, I think it went for 1000 euros.
Local lad that was into banger racing asked me if I had the loan of 500 euros, to enable him buy it ......

I never thought I would see one of these outside of a Car Show in the UK!!! I exclaimed quite loudly passing by "Holy S***" and I know the guy heard me :)

Pics from the Dashboard camera so apologies if there is some motion blur.

Couldn't believe my luck in a car park in Cheshire today. Two Alvis's, 1933 on the left and 1931 on the right. Absolutely beautiful, just sitting there unattended with tonneau covers fastened down.

Looks like the mini owned by (or used to belong to) Mini Fix, not sure if they still have it or if this was one like theirs.

They are pretty cool, turbo and all :D
