    Cosworth Capri in Roscommon.

The owner says the engine is a 2.9 Cosworth from a Granada.

I thought that myself. If I was restoring it I think I'd get something more appropriate.

However, I try not to be too proscriptive in these matters. At the end of the day it's his car driving around on a Thursday morning, not entered in a Concours d'Elegance. Sometimes cars have things added to them over their lifetime and they form part of the history of the individual car. Maybe someone's dad put them on and they are keeping the faith by leaving them there.

In any event it's very much the flaw in the Mona Lisa in the case of this Mini. The car appears to be a lovely little survivor. The sliding windows, the bumper over riders, the hub caps etc., all the evocative features of an early Mini are present and correct.

Great pics of the Mini above. I remember seeing that around in my childhood and teens. I'd safely say my father and brother would have worked on it.

    Here's what I saw yesterday.

Ford Cargo, Roundstone, Co Galway. Looks good for years, (old DI reg, Roscommon), and beside sea. The few cargos that are left now seem to be horseboxes or recovery wagons!.

That's proper Old School as opposed to the later Iveco Cargo

Really really old school as it looks like the ford lettering is from a very early d series, late 60's early 70's
